    alosso:

The one you quoted is from the first nine where I hastily took some pics, cutting this one off and forgetting my own UEL pic.

Later, I was afraid to take my pics and used the wrong moment. Neil said to take his own which I gladly accepted as a relief. And it went wrong on his side.

    Ho-hum - may we try again? ;)

    unclenewy:

This is from alosso's screen shots.

I took one from the fairway on the 16th and one on the 17th green, but for some reason, when I came to put them in photobucket to post, I have 2 pictures in my file of the 17th green (same shot), one named "uneven lies green" and the other named "uneven lies fairway". I have no idea how it happened.

I used 'paint' to capture and they are saved in my pictures file.

    Sorry about this.

I did post the correct stats in the submission form though.

I have no issues with re-playing the round if you require it Corwyn.

No, guys, no need to replay the round. I'm happy to accept the scores as is for an honest mistake. And I have no doubt you played with Uneven Lies.

But, drum roll, drum roll... per the rules (on page 1), I'll need to give you "the official warning" for a posting error:

    Corwyn:

    POSTING SCORES:

Please note these requirements for the tourney: As well as final Front 9 & Back 9 scorecard snapshots, you'll need to remember to take full screen shots on your 2nd shot on any of the last five holes, as well as on the Green, to verify Uneven Lies, and other conditions. (It might be prudent to take one on the 1st fairway as well, so you've got one in reserve in case you forget later.) [Example screenshots and full instructions are given below in the next post]

1 posting error = official warning
    2 posting errors = 1 shot penalty
    3 posting errors = 2 shot penalty
4 posting errors = DNF (did not finish)

Sorry about that... and I hope you overcome your fear of taking pics... ;)
(Or follow the trend, and video the round instead!)

Warning and slap on the wrist accepted....I'm gonna take one every hole from now on, I must get one right from those.

I do use bandicam for my own putting reference, but it lags the frame rate slightly and I wouldn't want it to cause a 'disco'. My desktop is old and weak.........a bit like it's fooking owner!!

Thanks guys! Sorry to be pedantic about this.

FYI: I hate this part of the job, and would much rather be practicing...

This is something that concerns me. We need as much cooperation as possible from our players to make this thing run smooth and fair for everybody. I know the Bandi-Cam stuff works well but Corwyn's time to actually watch it to get the confirmation and numbers takes up a lot of his time. The screen shots are a faster and easier way for him to verify the stats and keep track of the scoring. The one thing I don't want is Corwyn spending too much time tracking down information instead of being able to get some playing time in for himself. Please make sure the screen shots are as clear and readable as possible. Between pairs, make a plan that at least one of you will fill out the score submission, the stats submissions and get screen shots that are clear to read. This is going to go for 4 weeks. I'd hate to se Corwyn get burned out doing the admin work instead of scoring birdies. :)

Reese and I got the first round played and it was tough. I found out on the first tee he hadn't played the starter clubs in any practice before our round. What I learned is why we have TL's. Reese had a bad start but par'd 5 holes in a row once he found his sea legs. It was pretty cool seeing it come together. I had a funny moment on 9 when I moved the meter but never clicked my mouse. The putter moved on it's own and my par putt missed the hole without me clicking. We both took the bogie hit at 12 and 15 then just got it home after 2 disconnects.

I love Oakmont and playing it with the minimal equipment and the uneven lies really gives the course the chance to defend itself from our normal play. The fairways cutting opposite of the shots needed to get near the holes is an amazing design. On the back having to shave the fairways with cutting shots to keep it inside the bunkers while playing downhill is so much fun. Hope you all enjoy the design and mechanics of the courses as we go along.

    Aaarrggghhh....

Guys, same thing's happened again with you. Screenshot is missing the very bottom area, the part that shows the Uneven Lie grid. EDIT: not a problem (see below): fairway grid adequate for lie conditions, but would be nice to see Clubs clearly.

Any chance you captured a complete screenshot, Tim?

Also, please post the Scorecard. It's far more informative than just the Scoring tab of the Stats. I know it's an extra screenshot, but the Front and Back 9 Cards do tell us all how you achieved your score, and we can even figure out which pins you got based on the distances.

FWIW, the grid is there, around the player's feet, but the Starters club information is missing. I imagine this to be the fault of the pic I took from my playing partner (where the lie would not be visible).

Of course, Paul, you're right. fairway grid is good enough! Thanks!

I guess I'm too tired... automatically looking for the ball grid at the bottom.

And, there's enough of the word "Starters" showing to satisfy any possible concern around that too.

With the 'partner' shot you posted, I can actually see part of the word "Starters" as well... that wasn't the concern. It was that with you providing a shot of your avatar on the tee instead of an approach, there wasn't one among your set that showed Uneven Lies. And of course, you're right again that your 'partner shot' wouldn't have shown anything of the lie.
