    That's great!

Don't forget everyone: you need to sign up via this SIGN-UP FORM, so that I can make player pairings based on your availability.

    Thanks!

Come and join this event everybody, it's big fun!

I will gift a 9 hole personal coaching with your proper clubs and course/conditions of your choice to one lucky random winner who finishes all 4 rounds and does not win one of the other prizes! You will be able to ask whatever you want and I hope this will help you to achieve your goals in this game ;)

    Cheers, Hans

I've already said I'm in and filled in the sign up form, but do we have to look out for the tournament starting, or will you be contacting us?

I'm looking forward to it, c'mon guys forget about your average.....It's false anyway......and just play for laughs.

By the way I can help players with screenshots if needed.

Great to see you back around Hans. Hope the computer is up and running proper. Your offer of personal coaching is one of the most generous offers I've ever seen. Credits and gifts take little time but offering up your own personal time and experience sounds fantastic. Thank you so much for supporting this tourney in that way. I'd rather win your prize than finish well. I could use a lesson. ;-)

Keep checking in with this thread. Once sign-ups are closed Corwyn will generate a player pairing sheet and we'll need to contact our partners and schedule playing times together. We play in pairs to counter validate our use of the proper clubs and ball as well as learn something from each other along the way. Using equal equipment you can help each other play better by chatting what club and spin you use on each shot. If you're close to each other in the fairway, both players can make adjustments to their shot based on what the other is doing or did. Corwyn and I feel we learned to play UL much faster by helping each other while we were competing against one another.

Just to add to Cerino's comments above...

The tourney schedule is in the first post of this thread (and I'll be updating that first page with player pairings and other information (with edit notes, so you know what's new).

1st round schedule is Saturday 12th January to Sun 20th January.

My plan is to publish a first set of player pairings by about Wednesday this week (Jan 9th), with the players signed up to that point. Deadline for entrants is Friday Jan 11th. The availability times you've shared on the signup form means that you'll be matched with someone with overlapping time availability, but you'll still need to arrange a specific time to play.

Full info will be in the 2nd post of the thread (on page 1)... and I will also place a fresh, latest post at the end of the thread letting people know about updates to the first page.

At this point we have 17 players signed up for the tourney!

    Thanks!

Great to have you back Hans! I'm so glad you're in again this time to defend your title. And I'm very much hoping we can give you more of a run for your money this time!

And thank you for such a generous offer of the coaching prize. That will be a very special consolation for one lucky person!

    Cerino and Corwyn,

I want you to consider this seriously, because as we all know putting is the most vital part of the game: and I am not saying this from any other point of view than to preserve my putting  stroke. It has taken me 3 months or so to get it right with this Level 71 Nike putter and I do not want to mess it up by playing with a starter putter.

I was at the last event of this kind using a 'beginner' putter and was doing it 'off ding style'. I was very very good at it, but now I have the Nike, my style has changed completely , in that I move the aim marker and judge the break, and pretty often ding the putt. I am without any false modesty, pretty damned good at this new method.

As I said earlier the 'starter' putter is a different beast and I have never used it. A hack or amateur will have the advantage over me if we have to use starter putters, so your argument above  is not valid.

I urge you to consider this seriously. You can only 1 putt every hole at best , so what is there to be gained by preventing players to use their normal putter.

And one last point :- over the 4 different courses I imagine you will set 4 different green speeds, so there is enough of a challenge in that alone.

My argument here is/was not about improving my chances of winning anything, because I have no desire or expectation  in that regard, I like the competition and meeting new people.

Nice offer Hans. I quite fancy winning / not winning that

As I get this. it's to play on a level (no pun intended) playing field.

Damn the torpedos, where's me starter putter at!
