This has to be one of the hardest shots to make.

The lie indicator is no help as a majority of the time my shots only go 1 or 2 yards no matter how I hit it.

This has to be the worst part of the game, I get my putting sucks and my drives are short and rarely straight, but that is my fault.

Should I use full shot whenever I am close to the green? chip and pitch don't seem to cut it.  You'd figure on a 6-10 yd shot a chip would clear at least 1 yard or 2 of fringe, but uh-uh.

Forgive my venting but it just took me 3 strokes to go 4 yards.

It's not so hard to make it but this dreaded caddie, consistently giving questionable advice, is plain wrong 80% of the time when he says "chip".

There are valuable pitch and chip tips ==>

You'll have to make sure that the chip lands on fringe or green (20% of it's length), and the pitch lands on fairway or better after 50% of it's length. In case of doubt, use another shot, like flop, punch or full shot.

And, if you wanna do yourself a favour, get rid of that Starter wedge and get a decent one! This itself is a source of inconsistency.

are u using full back spin ?... be careful on short grass like fairway or fringe , u mite need adjust a little, full bs not hit with a ding will take off some distance as well ..short chips hit with full back spin are very difficult to judge depending on clubs and balls...thick grass as well..experiment with it...u will find whats best for yr equipment, as i levelled up i found the spin i was using was making most of the probs i had, u will learn which shots need back spin and what shots need forward spin...practise makes perfect :) ..good luck

10 yards is a nice flopping distance.

First get a better ball with better spin rating and use your 64 degree Cleveland wedge and chose pitch. Use 5 or 6 avatar moves and you will get close to 8 to 10 yards. With this setup figure 2 yards for every avatar move. Add 1 movement if in rough higher than 25/30. But it must be with a ball that has a good spin rating to stop quickly. Chips from heavy rough do go no where. But the pitch if used correctly can be a life saver.

    Braiden,

Get the level 39 ATV 64 wedge.  It goes full 50 yards.  Flop goes 15.  You can hit the flop anywhere from 50% to 100% very accurately.  It has been the best value for me so far.  I get up and down almost always when I use that club. (at least that is how it feels.)
