Freedom of speech means you can start up your own website and the government cannot prevent you from expressing whatever views you want there.

It does not mean that when WGT starts up its website anyone can express whatever views they want on WGT's website and WGT cannot control it.

We all agreed to moderated forums when we signed up.

The guidelines are set to what will be moderated, and there is a wide interpretation that can be applied to those guidelines.

It's a very simple concept, that so many seem to not quite grasp. Like a clause in an insurance contract, you read that document, but so many of us neglect the ones attached to sites and games like this one, simply clicking "agree. agree. agree. Now let me play!"

So often people cry foul on the abuse of their "rights" when they are neglecting their manners or etiquette, or exercising a lack of maturity.

    Food for thought.

WGT owes no appology. He brought it to the forums and made it public.

I'm not sure how they could have handled it better, other than perhaps wording in the PM.

If an accusation is made in a private conversation and that accusation is wrong then an apology should be made in  private. If the accusation is correct case closed.

Personally I don't think any suggestion of impropriety should have been leveled at  the player in the first place as there wasn't the evidence, WGT say they are able to determine whether a player is cheating so why then ask the player in that manor ? The player in question isn't obliged to prove his innocence, how many others would have wiped there mouth and swallowed an accusation of cheating, so in that respect i think he had the right to publish what was said. Romax , i don't think you'll see an apology my friend .

There has been a wee nod of the head by the employee in the closing post of that thread.

No offense but life is this way. Never seen a forum without Rules which restrict absolute freedom of speech. Indeed there are also laws which dictate what is and what is not considered to be constitutional "freedom of speech". That is Real Life. ;)

It appears that this constituional right has been stripped from WGT . When the kitchen gets too hot for WGT.... They close the post and think all is fine and everyone will just roll over on the topic and forget it. Gawd I wish I could just get people to go away by ignoring the topic. Life is not played that way !

You owe an apology to a certain player here and the good people on WGT. We are what makes this game what it is and false accusations and blatant disregard for a players reputation is totally unacceptable..... for me anyway. I request a public apology  to the player and expect no more. I will accept no less.  Your call WGT. Do what has to be done today.

Excuse my ignorance......   What are we talking about and  why an Apology :)
