    My feedback on the upgrade:

    • Sigh. I was only just north of 6 million credits short of the Mazerati. The 300,000 credit virtual golf bag is a close 2nd!!
    • Will I still receive the AmEx gift card I redeemed over 2 weeks ago?
    • I wish WGT would have a broader conversation that communicated its thought process and reasons behind these changes.
    • I just learned in my MBA education on Managerial Economics that offering incentives is a top 10 principle of Economics. Without the proverbial carrots dangled in front of me, likely that I might find even less productive things with my time :)
    • I remember when for the big monthly tournaments tangible prizes were offered. Golfsmith, Amazon, and a few others.  Made the game fun and exciting. Then they switched to credits, but offered the Elite Gift Card Option. Now it's none of the above. I play this game because its fun, but its more fun with incentives!
    • Will it be possible for WGT in 2013 to conduct more tournaments for tangible prizes than it did in 2012?

Just a wee observation. Doesnt the replay highlights page look very strange. All names im not familiar with, but it was once loaded up with all the best of the best members.

EDIT: At the time of this post.

    Hi Pizza;

I was reading through the thread and I could of swear I was reading a post that only a minute number of players were claiming the gift cards.   If the number was so small and essentially irrelevant, then why remove them?   If you are thinking that the number of members are going to buy the new custom bags and avatars are going to be greater than the gift cards then perhaps I am off my rocker.

Anyway, will be interesting to see what February brings when new additional items will be available in the elite collection.

NO ONE will purchase these ridiculous "Elite" golf bags, avatars, or tee times. NO ONE needs a MAX wedge with more spin and less precision than the Clevelands. And 9 shot course additions (CTTH) are fine but how about a new full 18, full shot course? It's been a long while since OLY...and Whistler is a joke.

Whoever is deciding what WGT should focus on in new product should rethink their strategy...

This is in reply to the subject of this thread:

    Site upgrades 8 Jan 13

My question is this:  Why wasn't the camera behind the green at SA#18 put back in?

It is there for the ctth's, so, why not for all the other rounds?  This  question has been previously asked more times than I can count, but I don't remember ever getting  a definitive answer for the why not part.

Well I may as well add my 2 cents worth.

    The good news.

    • Nice to have a new CTTH course, and a cool little course too (would have liked the full course) but as I seldom play CTTH so I personally will not play it often.
    • WGT has listened to feedback - customised bags and avatars. Been asked for frequently. And a chat with MisterWGT
    • More payment options.
    • New Max Wedges

    And the bad news

    • Absurd pricing for all items in point 2 above
    • Nothing for the average player like myself

Now I know big things have been promised for this year, but unless what was meant was big price tags this update with the exception of the new CTTH course has not delivered on the promise. More like a slap in the face to the community.

    WGTpizza:

Hey OBR, sorry but I have to refer you to one of my previous posts in this thread.

All questions about marketing or price points can be answered with this one statement:

    WGTpizza:
I will answer this, and any other question about the pricing of products on WGT:

WGT has a marketing department that decides the cost of items in the pro shop. Based on feedback and sales, they adjust those prices.

Our marketing department does not discuss their strategies with the public, as with most companies I am aware of.

    Stay classy,

    -WGTpizza

Right there is dumbest thing I ever heard. Most companies don't raise prices and make them not comparable to other companies like this one. Making excuses to keep high prices does not make a good company. If you are basing this site towards gambling, then I hate to say it, your going to lose customers, not gain them, especially when the avatar and bags are not much of anything except decorations. A call for $1000, just for a chat with site owner. OMG, with that. You are comparing your site with normal companies is funny.

I have never seen a company ever, that thinks so little of their customers than WGT does. And a chat whit Mr Wgt? he never answers questions on the Ask Mr Wgt monthly forum, why would he answer any here? oh wait.....pay for it
