I find it a depressing thought that people would give up playing the game purely on the basis they feel credits are worthless. This is after all a pastime not professional sport.

There are definitely some people not enjoying their time on WGT, which is completely in their control, and that also makes me sad :(

    tiffer67:
Pizza would you happen to know or be able to find out just how many people have actually received gift cards through accumulation of credits?

I dare say there's a few but as a percentage of the the number of regular players it must be tiny.

As a matter of fact, I am privy to the knowledge you are requesting, however I am not able to share it. This is a clear example of me being honest - if I wanted to BS the community, I would not have said this. Sorry that I am unable to give you this information, and I hope you understand my limitations here.

I will say that, from my experience at WGT, the gift cards were not a "hot item".

    Lots of pages of reading!

A someone else said "couldn't afford anything in the elite collection before; still can't". For all we know this is actually a brilliant marketing ploy by WGT and there's are hundreds of members desperate to get their hands on a customised avatar and golf bag and have a spare $20,000 around. Boy will we look silly then...

This kind of reminds me of the debate over taxation of the rich. Everyone, despite not being a millionaire, is looking out for the day when they become one. We're all retaining that speck of hope that one day the contents of the Elite Collection will actually affect us!

I dare say there's a few but as a percentage of the the number of regular players it must be tiny. For those talented enough to be able to achieve this then the withdrawal of said cards is a blow. Seriously though, is the continual credit chase the reason you play this game?

Hey Chris, i think you would be surprised how many of the good players do this.....i know of quite a few....and for some of them it was kind of a reason for continuing to play the game...and by that i mean top level players....players that have been here for a long time and have won all there is to win on here.

hey pizza..you said earlier you expect guys to purchase goods with credits saved up rather than spending hard cash. but surely wgt knew that every 1 was gonna cash in all their cred's on gift cards before they dissapeared. situation being now that most guys are pretty low, and with the highest rg being 500 entry, it will take an eternity to get close to the value of some new items in elite shop...so my point being, scrap the elite altogether or get more cred's turning over again and bring in the high stakes rg's again...(on cell = no paragraphs)

    WGTpizza.

The update for the 13th Jan. I have heard from a few players that this update will include removing the "reverse view"  from the game.

Is this correct or is it just hogwash, There is saying what goes "if it`s not broken don`t fix it"

I have heard nothing resembling this claim, so I would say this is not true.

I believe this showed up with the update. At least I never noticed it before. What is WGT's affiliation with the Golf Channel?

They may not be a hot item i agree.....but they do get purchased.....Which is more than i can say for anything that is currently in the elite collection now.

Seriously it was a wasted effort on WGT's part.....no one is going to buy any of that. An update could have included a bad disease and gotten more purchases than this elite collection is going to generate.

Bottom line guys, nobody is twisting our arms to buy this stuff. So lets kill 2 birds with one stone. Everybody wants the game to be more difficult, nobody want to pay the high price.

So how do we fight this, I'll tell you everyone and I mean everyone plays with the free ball, we already have our clubs, and with the free ball it will be more difficult, plus we hit them where it hurts in the pocket book.

What they did was a total waste of programming. Yelling about it on the forum is going to do nothing, just like punitive damages you have to hit and hit um hard so this naver happens again.

Please reply if you are in agreement
