Pizza would you happen to know or be able to find out just how many people have actually received gift cards through accumulation of credits?

I dare say there's a few but as a percentage of the the number of regular players it must be tiny. For those talented enough to be able to achieve this then the withdrawal of said cards is a blow. Seriously though, is the continual credit chase the reason you play this game?

I find it a depressing thought that people would give up playing the game purely on the basis they feel credits are worthless. This is after all a pastime not professional sport.

I'm afraid he's blocked by company interests...

One top player, famous Mr. B, recently guessed the total value of the gift cards to be 20.000 $ per year. This may be as far as we may come to know it.

And yes, I think there's a serious no. of players striving for money. Quite a few have expressed it and compared this site to an online poker site, and all the sandbaggers and multi-accounters show their intent clearly: Money!

And though the target seems futile to you and me, quite a few will leave now for good.

The positive side is: This is the ultimate measure against "cheaters". If there's nothing to gain but a custom bag or avatar (for the gamers not playing real golf) why should they stay here?

On the downside for WGT, they may lose a lot of turnover now.

Hey Chris, i think you would be surprised how many of the good players do this.....i know of quite a few....and for some of them it was kind of a reason for continuing to play the game...and by that i mean top level players....players that have been here for a long time and have won all there is to win on here.

Oh I don't doubt that but I'd be surprised if it were what provided them with the motivation to play in the first place. Gift cards were only in the reach of a very small number of players a couple of years ago. It was the guys like Bollox, Jake, JJ and Pricehcs that earned them, it was only the advent of the higher stake RGs that saw them become more attainable.

The withdrawal of these cards seems to be causing the greatest discontent when for the vast majority of players they are no more likely to be earned than anyone being willing to pay $5,000 for a virtual avatar.

The game hasn't changed, the friendships we all have made through the game are no different. I would think most people will continue to find enjoyment playing WGT once the dust has settled on this comical update....

    KevinFleenor:
Actually I wasn't expressing doubt, I was passively calling you a liar.

    KevinFleenor:
Don't take it as an attack on you, pizza

Can I get some clarity here?

Yes. For clarity I mean don't take this 27+page thread as an attack on you. The people writing in here are frustrated and feel left out and ignored. Rightfully so.

The liar part: yeah, you corrected the typo from 5,000 to 500,000, but it still reads

    WGTPizza:

If I wanted a customized avatar, and I had 500,000 in winnings, I would buy one.

Alright, it's unfair to call that a LIE I suppose, but there's a name for it.

    WGTpizza:

I have twice told you the truth now, but I've only been called a liar once - is the second one coming?

I take it back, Sir. What I was trying to infer was that the point of my post, and seemingly of this whole thread, is that there's a lot of frustraion building up and it appears  only a fraction of WGT's effort is being put forth to try to ease it.

Many suggestions are easy enough to implement, or at least officially address as to why they can't be implemented. But instead of having suggestions implemented, considered, or addressed, we get sidetracted with these weird things that really only involve a super small percentage of players anyway.

For clarity, the avatar, vacations, cars, whatever else is in the elite collection - even gift cards - they don't concern me one bit personally. If I want to play on Kiawah, I'll just book it with an agent. I have no use for the elite collection, so really I don't care what a custom bag costs. I care about the little things. And everyone who's ever had a relationship, be it a business, romantic, professional, or friendship relationship knows it's the little things that count. That's the point here, It's The Little Things That Count. For clarity.

Pizza, which options are available regarding skin and hair colour, clothing design, shoes, gloves, additional items like caps, glasses etc?

    Hey Alosso,

You can design the color and/or pattern on the pants, shoes, shirt and hat. You can also choose a unique hair style.

The description in the store is a little lacking, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I will make sure the proper people are informed.

Nothing wrong with that statement IMHO, just print "if I wanted" in 50 point bold&red.

Ye Gods...... I'll bet the ' Pizza Man and Icon' were dreading today ! To be fair, they do their best to stay in touch with the community and usually try to see things from both angles.

I'll stick with the above. I hate to see the 'Pizza Man' having to say that he has no opinion either way, when he has clearly demonstrated over the past few Months that there is so much more to him than an automated response -  " Clear your cache.......Clear your cache.....

Having said that, he's just " Piggy in the middle ", as we say over here and his opening response, after many pages of threads was that he would be happy to field any questions ! Sounds like the response of a rabbit who saw the headlights coming from a long way off to me.

I have this picture in my minds eye of him with his head in his hands when he was advised by some lunatic that he may have one or two customer points to address !

He's a good guy, who's drawn the short straw ! Like I said in my initial post, the decision maker in all this should be taken to one side and dealt with. Unless of course this is the way WGT are aiming to go, in which case we would be leaving in droves.

Well said, and I hear you loud and clear. The only time I took offense is when players insulted me specifically. I am not offended by the community's reaction to these changes made by WGT, and I deeply apologize if that is how someone perceived it.

I promise to keep telling you guys all the information I can, as soon as I learn it. If I don't have the information, don't shoot the messenger :)

While it's nice to get one question answered, I still miss the other answers.
