It would be interesting to have the option of dragging the meter position to vertical instead of horizontal.  Reading on how our mind processes information in terms of motion, our "verticality" has evolved better mental-perception when judging distances and acceleration while going down than when moving side to side ... Even better when going forward, but simulating that in a meter would be very hard and 3D would be indispensable.  Chinese people can't understand why we keep "writing and reading" from left to right ... they say maybe that's why we never learn ... lol ... just give it some thought WGT sirs ;)

    Cheers ! ... Q

NOTE :  Watching other players' videos I noticed that when moving the meter power bar they (and me too) tend to pull it up instead of to the left.  Even the game engine already interprets it as such.  So, the tendency is clear, wouldn't you say ?

Now, don't take me wrong; I am not suggesting a definitive and fixed vertical position, since some players would feel more confident on a "left-to-right" motioned meter.  I am suggesting a dragging-switching-position option.  I would bet that there will be a lot of thankful players for a change like this.

In terms of the actual club movement maybe it ought to start and the top and pull down.

Got me thinking for a second in a maybe yes, but wouldn't you agree that a smooth-effortless-swing has a most likely friendly-drop draw than a pulling up-forward push ?  Other golf simulations have presented an elliptical swing-meter always dropping, not climbing, but I don't want to complicate things for WGT suggesting an elliptical too ... lol

I've only used the Tiger Woods one. I do think one of the reasons you get dart throwing on this game is that you can set the exact power rather than having to try and click in the right place on the way up and then hit the ding (if that makes sense!).

When I mentioned previous game-engines like the one you are mentioning, was in the sole purpose to debate on the motion-orientation from up dropping down.  What you are saying here has nothing to do with my suggestion, since I also like the dynamics of "HAVING TO CLICK ON THE SWEET SPOT" and not an automated pre-dinged meter, which by the way the ezze-starter-clubs do very poorly.  I am only suggesting change of position of the meter from horizontal to vertical ... with the same dynamics of our human reaction.  Now, here I went further with the idea of the elliptical meter and it would be even better like this, and again ... keeping the releasing momentum at the power selected position and reaction-skilled click on the sweetspot ... But I have no idea if previous game-engine companies have rights over an elliptical presentation of a virtual swing ...

Besides all this criteria, haven't you guys noticed how we all have a "blind spot" on the left corner of our eyes, wich we can't cover efficiently while focusing in the "sweet spot" leaving us with a very small space for reaction and the sole confidence on long-time-earned experience on trusting our guts in a way ? Well, we don’t suffer the same “blind spot” as severely when motion is presented vertically … Same that happens with our blind spots while driving … That’s why we use the “eagle-eyes” in our mirrors … LOL

!!!  Let's just try to go to the first post of this thread to not lose perspective ;)  !!!

It might just be too hard. Most of us are used to so many things moving left to right that it is fairly easy to learn to watch and time the meter. The meter moving any any other direction might just be too hard to learn to do well.

Good suggestion! I'll make sure the WGT executives hear about it.
