All the minor issues with the game, that could and should be fixed, will not be fixed. This would result in fewer lost balls (loss of revenue), fewer players rushing to upgrade equipment, because they are currently satisfied with how they are progressing with their current sticks (loss of revenue). If you haven't jumped up and bought the best equipment you can for your level, I would hold off until the game shows some improvement. I have the best equipment in the pro shop, other than my putter. I have no problem with fairways or greens in regulation, other than my occasional screwup with my finger. I have rented and tried every top putter. I choose to stay with my old one. I just find it such a coincidence, that the only part of my game that is suffering now is my putting. I have a chance for a birdie putt, and the occasional eagle at least 7 holes out of 9. When the putt is 4.3 feet dead flat, dots showing no movement at all, tournament greens, set up for 4 feet, ding the shot and it either stops .02 short or takes off from the putter right or left, then this is programmed, pure and simple. I used to hit that putt 3.5 feet and it went in with speed to spare. A while back I rented the top of the line putter, played 8 rounds with it. I was dropping putts like they were rolling down a track in a gum ball machine. I did not invest in this putter. My Daytona has been terrible since I put it back in my bag. Like I said, I have the best irons and woods in the game, I use the top Nikes, they are working just fine, until a more expensive set comes out. This is not a conspiracy theory, it is the facts of my game and how it turns out, round after round after round. A 33 is the best I can expect, even when I start out 3 under. I don't play for credits, just for fun, and I don't see the need to invest in a new putter, knowing damn well a better one will be introduced for an ungodly price, and just make mine obsolete again. Sorry it has to be just a Coincidence.
