I sometimes try to give advice, even though I am not perfect, and make lots of mistakes too, whenever I can, I try.. but next time I'll probably shut up in my games, since last time I gave some advice to my p about a club I used for long... and my p made a bad shot and the other player told him to ask "the expert" what he did wrong. That pissed me a lot.
What I don't understand is why I started to play better and get lower scores as a Legend. I thought I was going to suck at first, but it was smooth. I had already played a lot of alternate games, most of them 18 holes. Most players don't play 18 holes, they can be 20 minutes there, searching for a game... and then search for another.. I have played thousands of 18 hole games, less lately, but that helped me understand the courses better. I don't fear any course either... I play them all and play good and bad, but mostly good at them all.
I don't have a big repertoire of shots around the green, but know my clubs well, especially my wedges. I can be in a terrible lie and, whenever possible, save par or even make a bird... Wedges, short game, can save you lots of strokes. You can leave me in 40% rough around the green, and 90 percent of the time I will leave you less than 2-3 yds from the hole. The best advice is to play and make notes, written or mental of what works and what doesn't... play all courses, in and out.. maybe you won't be the best player but you will improve your game a lot. Even though all things don't work the same in all courses most things do, to a certain manner.
