I would like to thank everyone for the kind words on here and messages although I do not see them as deserving, as like any objective poster, we do try and help the community. So I do not see it as turning my back on the newbies as I know that they will be helped.
Choppo summed it up "hitting your head against a brick wall". The ideas that have been brandished in the forums are often great ones, that could make this great game of golf an even greater one. But this is where the forum has not functioned as I believe it was intended - as a communication line to WGT and in turn, the communication to the community.
I have mentioned (along with others) would WGT consider a forum group that could directly contact and put ideas to WGT as well as reviewing impending implementations by WGT and have constant dialogue (the latter would have prevented much angst over the latest updates and issues such as the anti-sandbagging fiasco. I am in no way suggesting any such group has any real clout but would at least widen the perspective for WGT of how impending changes may impact the community as a whole. With ideas that have been put forward at least the group could then report back to the forum with a yes, no, or a maybe along with possible time frames.
But I know this will not happen, but I would be very happy to nominate some names who I think would be good canidates.
Finally it does seem the devisive wedge has been driven and is more akin to slap in the face for a community and I agree with Renn and Andy, after the wonderful spirit we saw here in the last few months it is demoralising.
I will see you on the fairways (most likely the rough so please help searching fpr my ball before the LOST BALL flashes) and eventually on the greens .......unless I have used up my 10 shots OR until PP gets going - then I will probably see most of you there.
NB I expect to be here a while Chris, PP despite the promise is a long way off on pledges. Perhaps they should be talking to the Golf Channel or venture capitalists.
