Anyone know of any threads or posts on using this club? Consider myself a decent player and just lately switched from the level 27 Cleveland 56 degree to this one, but seem to be overshooting a lot of pins. Not using any bs, some shots get real close but not as confident as I was with other wedge. Guess practice is the answer, but any help would be appreciated. Thx.

I use it with great confidence.  Stick with it and enjoy.

The higher level Clevelands are a bit long, in my opinion, but I believe it's because I don't use full backspin with them as I usually do with my irons. I find that when I do use full backspin, I lose some distance. Compensating for a backspin loss of distance doesn't work if you're not using backspin.

With the 64 degree, I have to put half topspin for it not to roll back much; with the 56 degree, slight backspin does the trick, and most times I don't bother changing the spin at all... depends on the wind.

It is something that you'd simply need to get used to though. Keep at it.

IMO it's an excellent wedge from 80 to 110, depending on winds, of course. The punch at 84 yards is extremely useful. Being 10 yards longer than what you're used to you should expect this difference, you just have to learn it.

I'm curious about something in your equipment-why don't you carry a 64W and have both a 3W and a HB? Maybe consider dropping one for it? You'll get coverage up close from a 7 yard chip to a 60 yard full swing and it fits  well with the 2 you already have.

I can add some thoughts from my side.

I have three wedges and used them through Master and TM. Now, as a fairly new Legend without the top gear (G20s are it!) I'm trying out an approach with more stress on the long side.

At first I replaced the 98 yds wedge by the hybrid - nice in many situations.

Alas, on KIA front nine I have a few 90 yds shots but only two with the 3WD (##2 and 7), so I replaced the 3WD with the wedge - works nice for me there.

There may also be courses calling for 98 + 50 wedges and 2 woods - who knows?

Thus, I'll have to work out set-ups for all courses - nice work through 400+ rounds :)

Legend golf is a bit different than TM down. You can survive quite nicely with 4 wedges until you get to Legend so I would think 3 is automatic. It makes a huge difference if you use all of the shots with the wedges, too.  :-)

Practice, practice, practice!! Get on Kiawah #1 in practice mode and try different shots. It is the only way to learn how to use any new club IMO. I have this club, along with the 60 and 64 and I absolutely love them. I have put more shots in the hole and close to the hole with these wedges than I can count.

lvl76 100yd Cleve .. all u do is calculate ur shot (on most shots leave the spin dot at default position), take off 2yds .. then ding .. u'll get ur required distance

e.g. , if u wanna reach the full 100yds, play ur shot at 98yds ..

I agree about taking 2 yards off but I actually find it's a bit short around the 85-92 yard range. I usually add top spin there.

Should prob use the punch more...

I think the only hole in the whole game I use backspin with the Cleveland wedges is BPB2.
