    Hi DaveStrock,

There is no difference, other than appearance. Avatars are a purely cosmetic aspect of WGT.

I would hate to disagree but the advantage is it distracts all the competitors...unless you are a gal.

It would be cool if different avatars had different attributes....eg..If one Avatar was a better Driver and 1 a more precise putter etc etc etc....

It might be a mind thing but I have had my best rounds using my Ryder cup American Avatar . Go figure.

I have used a female avatar in the past and  the biggest reason I did was the different avatar movements when putting.

At the time I was using the Rossa putter and with the female avatar on the 15 and 30 foot scales the avatar movements were at every 5 feet rather than 6 feet with the male avatar.

The players who use the female avatar all the time may be able to list more advantages than that but that the main reason I tried the female avatar

My understanding was that - at least a couple of years ago - the female avatars were somewhat more precise (with an extra motion in the meter scale) but the male avatars hit the ball a little farther.

I'm not sure if perhaps these differences weren't removed at some point?

(Plus of course players' own preferences for whose rear end they want to be staring at for half an hour or more.)

As I understand it, there are the meter movements described above.

I played with a guy some time ago who used a female avatar. The reason he gave was that he had a hard time figuring out when it was his turn because all the male avatars looked the same, and the majority of WGT members are male. He used a female avatar just to be different so he would more easily know when it was his turn.

I'm not saying it's a valid excuse; I'm just passing along his explanation.

Nope, there is no difference between the male and female avatar, other than visual aspects.
