Very interesting Andyson.  I've been thinking the same for the last 2 years but didn't have any foundation to argue from.

About meter spikes and freezes.....for me when the meter isn't stuttering the whole way down the line (think I have that issues patched) 9 of 10 meter issues happen when the downswing hits the first line in the meter or right when it gets to the blue "hit" zone.  It either totally freezes in these places or sputters then rockets off the screen.

My question is, do others out there with meter problems have the same issue or do they occur at different times during the downswing?

Exactly around the same area Jake, always in and around the first line just before the ding. And the same effect also, it either freezes, or rockets off past the ding line.

This is something i have often thought about as well. Lets say im using the driver, and i use full power. On a smooth run to the ding line, it could take 3 seconds from the moment i release the power, up until it reaches the ding line. If its programmed to go that distance along the power line, then how come it can reach well past the ding line after the meter skips, in that 3 seconds? Does the programme have the capacity to jump? I hope somebody knows what im trying to say here, as i cant find the right words for it, lol.

    2-1,

I know exactly what you are saying but don't have the answer.  It does seem like it would take the same amount of time to get to the ding.  I think this is why it rockets right after it stutters in the zone.
People say just hold your swing off when it stutters, but when it's perfectlyt smooth until the moment of truth you're already committed.  I've tried playing where I was waiting to "not swing" looking hard for spikes.  You talk about a hot mess.  That's just like going to the first tee having shanked 20 balls in a row on the range.

I've often thought about, and suggested re-engineering the meter in many ways.  I know "Max" ultra slow balls don't help.  It's actually easier to ding a starter ball than a "Max" ball when the meter is jumpy.

I to have had that experience with the ball lagging in flight and on the green, kinda funny sometimes when your on the green and you hear the ball go into the cup  and it's still rolling to the cup

It's even more critical. Those Flash numbers presume there's no competition for CPU resources during the meter animation.

WGT should run the frame rate as low as possible while still achieving an acceptable degree of visual smoothness. However, the lower the frame rate, the more pixels must be laid down per frame, resulting in clumpiness, which isn't quite the same thing as stutter caused by inability to get the job done in time.

Meter has been good since I make sure there is nothing in Global Settings but WGT and have my firewall in game mode.  Tonight I played 2/3 9 hole games then played 2 RG's. Had 2 meter freez's in RG's..( always makes me wonder if it is WGT messing with the game). meter stops dead right before the ding so there is no way to not to swing . After you swing the meter takes off like a rocket but you get the bad shot of an early hit. One shot cost me a stroke one did not. Overall my meter has been very good for about a week.

Thanks Jake, im glad i got that across, lol. But where you say it stutters before it rockets off, i would be talking about no stutter at all, just a smooth run to the ding line before it shoots off, Without any stutter. We all know the power bar accelerates as it closes in on the ding line, but what i often see is the power bar just zooming off so quickly, that even superman would find it impossible to even get close. I would be just about to click about half way between the first line and the ding line, but by the time ive clicked, the power bar is off the scale. Now , im no slow coach, but when the power bar goes off so fast that i end up clicking near the very end off the power grid, then questions have to be asked as to why. Cheers Jake.

    Thanks andyson.

We'll have engineers take a look, cause for me, it's like Aramaic...

Any word on this from the engineers or MisterWGT?  Just wondering if we will hear anything back from WGT Icon?

You are correct, I have definitely noticed over the last few days that there is no consistency in the meter, sometimes it speeds up and other times it slows down,

I noticed this specifically with the max ball which I tried and wont be going back to, total waste of credits and with that slower meter you can visually see the difference in meter speeds between shots..

So how the heck can we get any any kind of rhythm going???
