    Has to be the most useless option.

    You'd think being 1-2 FEET from the green is the perfect chipping option, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it goes a few inches.  Even when I go 3/4 of the meter for a short shot.

    My own fault for using it when I know better, but is there a way in settings that I could remove it from my list of shots?

    Well, you could just not use it.

    The chip shot is a great tool if you know when and how to use it. I have chipped in many many times. But it should not be used if you are in rough higher than 25/30. And if you are 2 feet from the green not the pin e unless you are on the fairway you are most likely in 30/40 rough or higher. That calls for a pitch. Every shot type here has its uses you just have to know when and how to use them correctly. The problem here comes from the fact that fully 1/3 of real golfers don't know the difference between a chip and pitch in real life. you read here all the time people saying I chip from heavy rough all the time in real life when actually what they are doing is pitching. Those who finally learn the difference become much better players both here and in real life.

    The biggest problem concerning the chip is that it is being proposed wrongly 80 % by the dreaded auto-caddie.

    Second problem is the Starter wedges which are most difficult with pitches and chips.

    Once you have better clubs and know how and when to use it it's most valuable.

    Two general tips:

    Read the Tips there ==>

    Exchange the remaining Starter wedge against another one.

    Practice.

    Thanks for all the tips guys and I will put them all into practice.

    I was venting about the damn chip after it ruined a perfectly good round.  I am a few levels away from upgrading my clubs and getting the Cleveland series of wedges.

    I use the chip from the fringe or from lies in the fairway or light rough with a lot of success.  I don't care that the auto caddy putts it in all the time insead of a pitch or flop, it's my responsibility to check and change that.  I tend to ignore the pitch, haven't got that one down well.  The flop tends to be my go to shot from the deep rough around the greens.

    I find a chip from the fringe is much more consisent than a putt from there and I almost never putt from the fringe.

    I used to hate it, i suggest you play a few practise rounds, you will get used to it, once you do it will save you shots.

    I felt the same way you feel when I first got my Cleveland wedge. The dame thing is so lofty, you really have to practice hitting it a bit firmer for the required distance.

    like they said, practice for a while and you'll get the hang of how  hard to hit it, back spin or top spin and all those shots. The CLeveland took me a while to get used to chipping was way different from my ping.

    Chipping from light rough works for me, flop is very good out of 30+ rough....
