Oakmont #17 Fringe

  I believe others have seen this as well, but just behind the hole on #17 I had a 10ft putt from the fringe (just barely on the fringe). Struck the putt 3/4 of the 15ft putt meter and the ball went 5 inches. There goes the birdie, didn't want to waste another attempt so tried chipping, only to miss by a few inches - making bogey and of course dropping me from -5 to -4 and out of the cut. UGH!

  Par 18 of course to rub it in. Submitted a bug report, but how painful it was to miss due to that.

  This is still a problem.  It happened to me yesterday on #17 and in an earlier round on #2.  For the sake of the guys that made the cut, I hope this gets fixed before the real tournament starts.

  Edit: I understand there is always a problem from the fringe areas and experience will prevail...but these shots don't come off the putter correctly...even if the fringe slows the ball down 50%, the ball should still move.
