in the thread Club Owners Tournament we set up a wee tournament for Country Club owners. This thread is to organize it.
Sequence of play:
Being 10 players, we'll start with 5 matches. Results and scorecards must be presented here. Winners will advance of course.
By comparison and countback the three "best" follow-ups will be determined and continue to the second round. Thus eight players will enter the second round, making up for a classic bracket.
First round is 9 holes + extra holes, 2nd round to final are 18 holes + extra holes.
We play rated matchplay in the following sequence:
Round 1: Bethpage front nine, 9 holes, 5 matches
Round 2: Best of Famous 18 holes, 4 matches.
Semi-final: Congressional 18 holes, 2 matches.
Final: Oakmont 18 holes.
MPCs may be played on prior agreement. Online or offline streaming is welcome.
Rules:
Rule 1 calls for fun and fairness - this is a casual tournament.
Time for each round is one week. First round should be terminated by Tuesday, Jan 29, 23:59 h PST (equivalent to Wednesday, 7:59 h GMT).
Each couple and each player is responsible for their game. Do your best to come together and bring it to a good end.
Post your scorecards (first round only) and results here, winner being responsible for the result, follow-up for the pics.
Results may be entered in the spreadsheet (voluntarily).
