How about a "naked" WGT tournament?

  Okay .. okay ... this may not be a new idea, however; I have yet to figure out how to search the forums.  What's up with that?

  Anyway, my thought is, no matter your tier or level, everyone uses the free "unlimited" WGT balls, and all of the starter equipment.

  You know, a skill only based tournament, no great equipment or balls, just an even playing field (except for experience / talent / luck).

  Is this an old idea?

  If not, anyone else on board?

  This is an old idea and it pops up from time to time.  I actually think that there is one going on right now.  Since the forum search is down it is more difficult to figure out what is happening than it was.

  My only argument with this is that I don't use this equipment anymore.  I would have to practice with it for a few days before the tournament and then after it is over my 'real' game would be out of sync for a couple of days, I'm sure others feel the same way.

  Also when you sign up for a ranked round, it defaults to your level so I'm not sure how you get Legends, Masters, etc. on equal footing.

  All starter equipment and starter ball, uneven lies. Practice mode only. Everyone hits off the same tees.

  Thanks for all the great "input" and feedback.

  I had guessed this was not a new topic but without being able to search, who knows?

  I appreciate the opinions about the impact on the "normal" game and all the fun feedback as well.

  I hope to play you all "naked" some day :-)
