Two suggestions for somewhere to practice some shots without the need of playing full holes.

9 holes of putting around the 40/50 ft mark

9 holes of around the green wedge shots

Especially for the earlier tiers who the practice may be useful, also  will give players who want to trial new clubs somewhere to go to try something specific.

    Any thoughts?

Or you could select the 9th hole at St Andrews on the single hole function. Take one drive and you can practice wedge shots and putts from there.

    That will work

Or you can try Kiawah #1 in low wind, this may be a better option coz at STA, you never know what wind you are going to get even set to low :-)

Unless of course you wish to determine wind effect then STA is your course of choice..

Each CTTH has a distinct first hole where you can practice a particular shot over and over. For instance, Pinehurst #1 is a great hole to practice the 3,4 and 5 irons. Depending on the wind you can use all 3.

Look at the first holes of each CTTH and determine which shots/irons you need and make yourself a list. That way you have a reference for practicing a particular shot or club.

#2 at Congo for round the green shots....has sand.and a nice selection of lies around it..just hit around 175-185 from the tee to come up short enough.

Just use the "Golf Courses" from the "WGT" tab..and select Congressional and then you can select the individual hole..then every 9th shot just cross the page and hit " Play this hole" again.
