I agree to a point. But if that's all you do why be in a CC.

You won't get much push back from CC owners on that statement Scott. My CC had over 225 members when I joined last Summer. Now there's only 104 members, and not all of those players play in the daily tournaments.

I understand people get busy from time to time, but they could find time at least once or twice a week to participate in a daily CC tournament.

There are many advantages being in a CC, one is to play in the CC Tournys and improve. It is all well and good playing stroke rounds but until you see other scores from your peers, you really have no idea at what height the bar is set, and therefore is a good focus point to improve.

One other is forming friendships between other members and playing a variety of different types of matches with them. But one af the greatest advantages is the sharing of knowledge and helping the newer players to improve. I for one will happily share tips between fellow CC members (not that I am particularly good).

But if you don't participate in club activities I agree with Scott and your club is better off without those non players

Yup, if you in a CC  then get involved..fully

I play in every one of my CC comps open to me (and some that are not by accident) oops :))

..but lately I found I win 95% of them so I thought of leaving a couple of times and joining a club with players better than me, as it seems unfair to others, but my CC owner says "you something to aim for" so.....I'll stay, as loyalty, and as you say / allude to, participation is paramount for a healthy, vibrant CC.

You and the six other members in your CC can do what you wish, to each his own I guess.

This is very arrogant, what difference does it make if he has 7 or 250 members, his statement still stands. Why try to belittle him?

A lot of difference. Big clubs can offer so much more, competing against 249 other members is much better than playing against the same 3 or 4. Prizes are bigger and there is more insentive to improve. :-)
