The effect of "distance"-balls

  To be honest I havent bought any balls increasing the distance at all, because I am not sure how they work. If i use my 155y 7i with normal balls it will be good for 155y +-something. Now, if i use balls with 2 dots of distance, does WGT tell me "159y 7i" or do i have to figure out myself how much longer the iron is going to be?

  with my srixons ive added 2 yards a shot with irons

  It's mainly on the drives that you see the difference, from 2 to as much as 10 yards depending on the ball. You'll notice a lot less from shorter shots and you soon get used to what difference there is.

  I'm not so much for distance balls, i take spin over distance any time.

  Hey X, the displayed distance for each club stays the same, so you have to compensate.  The amount of extra distance you get varies depending on the iron set and the amount of spin you use.

  Yes, you have to figure it out yourself.

  You also have to figure out how the wind, elevation, ball spin setting, and 'ding' accuracy will affect the distance your ball goes  too.

  Thanks, I think I've come to the point where I realized that. So it's just one factor more to confuse you ^^

  I have found that the top Nike balls with full backspin with my clubs go about the same distance as stated by my clubs. If that helps at all

  I'm a mathematician, so I don't like guessing very much. As long as there is no driving range, any hint to give you an idea of quantifying the "distance dots" is welcome. ;)

  But I think I will stick with the "cheap" GI2-S balls, at least as long as I have to save video credits for 2 weeks to get callaways or nikes ;-)
