Last night at about 10pm South Africa time (GMT + 2) I tee'd off in the STA full 18 rg figuring I could get it done in 30 miutes or so and get to bed and play it again this morning,

I had a cracking front 9 and was 10 under, I get to the 10th tee, Swing, click, miss a bit late and frozen screen, I submitted bug reports etc, and emailed support (who have always been great towards me). I re-booted my pc countless times/cleared cache/flash cache the whole tootie, I still kept getting WGT's error screen over and over..

Anyway, to cut a long story short, it took me 2h28 minutes to get from hole 10 to finish the game, by which time I could hardly see or focus as it was after 1am.

I missed a straight tiddler from 6 feet coz I was so tired that I could barely see lol but I didn't want to keep 49 other people waiting so I plugged on but last night was a shocker and the first time I have experienced this kind of thing and I hope it doesn't happen again.

    Peace,

    Liz

I know, don't you just love the people that defend WGT at all cost and talk about how they never have issues. Another thing I love is that they always want to say that it is our computers that are causing the issues.

Sting will always, always say that. I'm about as technical a wet dishccloth myself and Sting is clearly a very knowledgeable guy, especially in how to set up a computer to get the best out of this game.

Personally, I think the truth lies somewhere inbetween.

I even went out and bought a new PC a couple of months ago, top of the line PC as well, and I still have meter problems with WGT.

A pc, its operating system and the software you use need configuration and maintenance, just like a car does.

Still, I must say that even doing all the right things on user end does not guarantee a steady meter. I know my computer stuff, I do the right things, but still the meter is one day better, the other day worse. That can be caused by anything in the whole chain, maybe wgt servers being misconfigured or too busy, but not necessarily.

Gotta ask this.....I've found Tourny, Alt, CC, and other modes seem a little different as far as how shots on the same day (or morning....I digress......) act. I understand different courses have different characteristics. Maybe I'm bewildered about how many .06 putts I have to kick in. Maybe I'm hopin' a good post on this thread gives my putter laser precision. Yup, I want my putter to post its own thread come to think of it......

    LMAO!!!!

I went out & bought a new "top of the line" computer too just for WGT, but my meter issues have subsided.....I guess I'm lucky.....Who knows???

I don't believe any two computers respond exactly the same, I've found that clearing flash, running a cleaner, plus a program designated to help with issues, adds greatly to your chances of lessening your problems.A good antivirus is needed at all times.

That being said, nothing will stop the probability of meter issues, when you start to experience this, its time for a weekly-bi-weekly cleaning, always dump temp files within internet options.Last but not least is the interference caused by wgt updates, and the issues that can arise during a great match.

I still find this virtual game to my liking, especially since I am unable to do the real thing.
