with the 8 iron i only use alittle bk spin at most and maybe take a little power off the shot instead of full bk spin.

my r11 driver has been weird last few days.

my meter is actually quite good at the moment but not with the r11 driver !

irons , wedges , putter good meter but r11 driver not so much. any one else had this ?

With the 8 just use a tad of B/S or T/S and it performs quite well. It it when you add full B/S that it performs poorly.

just to add i have same prob, i tend to gauge the 8 iron as it will go 148 yds with full bs(lvl 71 distance nikes) sometimes its bang on, other times its bang out,

would be good to know what numbers you guys/gals use

I've nicknamed mine Fellini because it plays more like an 8½.

Well the 8 iron is a difficult club, icon gives good advice don't use it, not sure hearing that from the company makes me all warm and fuzzy.

Lvl 71 nike used to get 146 FBS 156 NS although not consistent but often the case, now I get often 153 FBS or NS, I call it my 150 no matter what club seems with full power the club does not care about wind or elevation anymore and getting worse. But with 97% power 151 ns and 142 FBS usually around 144 to 143 FBS and 152 to 150 NS, much less dispersion rate. I still dread the thing but if the yardage calls for it, try to avoid full power.

    Hope this helps.

Personally..."(not use it )" is ridiculous advise....the club is strong , but very accurate and controllable with just a touch of feel and reason-ability. I think what is often forgotten here is the sensitivity of spin that  the cally ,  the nike , and X  offer....don't blame the club...learn to control your spin !  The R-11 is actually a GOD-send when facing a headwind and have the guts to attack a pin flat spinned or topped....very strong ,  but nice !    Learn it,   then ,  love it !

    p.s.  (Ridiculous rant  444)

My R11 3 iron is my mystery stick, never now if the big boy or wimp is gonna show up!

It is the most inconsistent iron in my bag!

    just my 2 Cents ;)

The ball won't bounce and roll on water. Your 240 yard 3 wood only goes 225 over a fairway too.

So you have to also keep track of how far your clubs go in the air before they land.
