Depending on the strength and direction of the wind, anywhere up to the first line past (or before) the ding. It's not a good habit to get into because you can get in a lot of trouble but with a little practice you'll know when it will work.
A particular situation I frequently take advantage of is on strong crosswinds, without touching the default aim, missing the swing to the first line against the wind will straighten a 20 mph wind out. You lose a little distance but you're dead center in the fairway. :-)
