I refer to WGTpizza's post regarding upcoming improvements.

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/134700.aspx

Communication between players and WGT has been pretty much non-existent in the past, so I would like to commend WGTpizza for at least posting upcoming improvements.

I had contacted WGTpizza directly several weeks ago and had asked for three things.

    • Items requested and under consideration (simalar to what we have under- read here before posting)
    • Items agreed to be implemented, with approximate timeframe and/or priority
    • Rejected requests and a brief reason

When you read through the forums month by month, the same requests are made time and time again (even when the search box was enabled) and hopefully this may stop some duplication - or at least give an easy referal point. Just as importantly it will keep players informed of changes (without giving too much away). Often we make requests but never seem to know if these requests are forwarded to the powers at be, so this list would also give some transparency between WGT and the players. For this very reason I was very despondent regarding the purpose (or to be honest, the effectiveness) of the forums.

WGT is a great game but communication is its biggest weakness, but this is a start - not everything I wanted, but a good start.

    Alan

    Thanks for the post, Alanti

Compiling a public report like this and maintaining it would require time, not to mention dedicated resources, that WGT does not currently have.

They asked me to improve the communication aspect of the business, but as far as keeping a public development schedule goes, WGT simply does not have the dedicated resources to create and maintain one. The "roadmap" thread is about the best we can do.

For now, the community is left with: "You will know as soon as we know" and that's the best we can do.

I agree this would take time in compiling and maintaining a report like this would take up some resources but I personally think this would greatly benefit the end users and possibly reduce some of the dulplicate posts and questions you have to answer. I am sure a member would be happy to compile and maintain such a report for free (obviously a confidentiality clause would have to be signed).

This you have done, I have alwayys found you approachable and honest in your answers and think yourself and Icon do a good job with the communication most of the time (even when the stones are being thrown at you) and as others have said previously, you do not have an enviable task a lot of the time.

No doubt that increased responses to user suggestions would benefit the community. Your suggestion seems to allude to the impression that WGT is having trouble finding the time and/or resources needed to accomplish this.

I want to be clear - there are heaps of brilliant people in this industry that could accomplish this for WGT. If WGT had an endless stream of funds to use as they see fit, this game would be completely different. They do what that can with what they have available to them, which is what most businesses do.

Thanks for the kind words, friend :)
