I got adblock with my browser. Works like a charm
I don't and still don't see anything the OP sees.
Not everything you think in protection actually does what it says. There are so many false positives out there. Only a few protection software actually tells the truth. I trust software that does not lie.

Adblock plus for Firefox works
great. Also, many anti-virus programs will pick up adware websites as a
false positive virus. You can always set your anti-virus program to whitelist websites to stop false positives from occurring.
You don't even have to whitelist anything if you got good enough program running it. I use MSE and malwarebytes, with no problems and no adding whitelists either.
Too heavy of security makes it worse than it should be.
If you really want a good firewall, then use your modem dsl or cable modem firewall. It will block you from internet and internet from you, and you also have spend some time getting it setup just right to get it to the way you want. Hardware firewalls are the best.
