ive been trying to find a way of calculating the wind left and right of the hole to et it closer, how do people do this so far atm im writing down the distance to the whole and the wind strength and direction then using a ruler to measure in millimeters how far to aim.

anyone do anything like this or is it just a feel thing?

I do it your way. Once you have a few calculations then it is easy to work out a formulae.

For me it is 30 degree wind = 75%,  45 degree wind is 50% and  60  degree wind is 25%

The width of the yard & elevation marker is equal to 6 yards of side or cross wind.

i use the flag as a measure of 7 feet, or one mph per foot of flag stick. works pretty good. higher winds and greater the length of shot required increased movement of cursor.

It is a feel thing for me as well. The amount of distance given for the wind depends on the distance you are from the flag, the terrain and even which course you are on. Practice is the best remedy for any situation in the game.Know the course and know your equipment.

It seems obvious now I've worked it out, but it wasn't when I started, the amount of effect the wind will have depends on the club you are using. The longer the ball is in the air the more chance of the wind shifting it. So if you're using a 3W or 3I there will be a lot more swing than a 9I or wedge.

You won't believe how long it took me to realise that!

I use the pitch view combined with the rear camera view to get a feel for how far to aim left or right.
