Yes! Your opinion is soon to be a former opinion!
The way I see it the game has two parts:
1. Being able to work out the shot needed which can be learnt from the forum and experience.
2. Executing the shot by clicking the mouse when best to do so, be that early, late, a bit early or late, or on the "ding".
I am not aware nor can I imagine Part 1 being "cheatable".
Part 2 however opens up all sorts of possibilities:
The "difficulty" of Part 2 is timing the click and the faster the meter goes the more difficult. Hence why WGT offers balls with "feel" - to "legally" slow the meter down at a price.
But is a high feel ball the ONLY way to slow the meter down? No. Most well known and readily searchable and downloadable programs used for (among other things) making mods for games and testing games and programs (and often used by cheats) come with ready built "speed hacks" which one can use to speed up or slow down games. Including web based online flash games.
Some have macro's or small programs that can be used to click the mouse for you - again another handy test tool when trying to find bugs. But once again, they can be used to cheat. For example, a game that requires you to repeat a task over and over with a mouse click can be "programmed" with an "auto clicker" so that that task can be done automatically.
So, presuming all players with equal experience can probably figure out the shot / drive / putt needed, the one thing that can seperate such a group is those who "click best" and those that miss some. The cheat looks for an unfair advantage so either slows the meter down (making an accurate click easier) or uses a "click bot" to make the mouse click for the cheat at the right spot on the meter (be it late, early or ding as required.)
Thus, the cheat will tend to always be in the group that "clicked best".
