Just played hole 8 186 yards after deduction 10 mph behind going 8 to 2 oclock so I thought 6 iron #180 it went 209 yards what a load of bs.

    did I get it wrong

Bare in mind it is a down hill green, so the ball will travel further than on a flat surface.

Generally I decide how much spin I want according to the wind direction, and then decide how much club I need according to wind and to how much spin I have applied. If that makes sense.

Remember, spin will effect distance. Half spin and full spin will result in two dfferent distances on a full club.

For sure. Plus, hitting off a tee gets you more yardage AND the back spin keeps the ball in the air longer so the wind can carry it, if you used it. Your result acted like the 5i would have. Maybe the club didn't change?

Trial and error and make notes.

But the yardage is 196 yards and 29 feet down with wind 10 mph going 8 to 2 oclock what yardage would you have  used.

I would have shot it 188, full backspin, aiming 9 yards left.

Same as bubbadork. Full 188 but no spin. Spin on  the Callaway s ball really hurts on this hole. Plus the ball should hang in the air some for a more straighter drop.

Your R11 6i at 97%  slight trace of BS...weird hole anyway as my 'more wgt game physics bull' replay will testify to.. :))

When the pin's in the front position I have to add 2-3 yards in addition to everything else. When it's in the back, it's OK. There are several holes where the yardage is not accurate. I keep notes for the CTTHs, but not for the regular rounds. I keep the notes for enough shots to average out the deviation.

That hole can act weirdly at times anyway. I've spent ages sometimes working it out to the last detail, dinged it and ended up nowhere near the hole.
