What is best and why? Looking at the specs (number of dots) the Cleveland's  have more spin than the ATV's, but less in precision and forgiveness. I'm trying the 64 degree Cleveland and yes it stops dead, but my pitches and flops are sure suffering.

Admittedly I'm just a mediocre TM, so please tell me what I'm missing, and what is the advantage of switching.

I do notice that those that use wedges other than the Cleveland's refer to them as their wedges. Those that use Cleveland's refer to them, in an imitation voice of Tim Allan, the Hardware man as, Argh, " My Cleveland's" Argh. Argh

    Thank you

The clevelands  have more spin and precision. The only thing the atv have going for them is a slower meter. If you can ping the atv better than clevelands you should get them. I have no problem pinging clevelands so i use them. With the nike 71 balls the 60 and 80 yard cleveland should be inside 1 yard most of the time. The best thing to do is rent one of the atv and try them out. Let us know what you find out.

ps  Dont abandon the clevelands to fast.

I used the Clevelands for ages and loved them but one day I was hanging around in the pro shop and the guy behind the counter gave me a good offer on the ATV's, buy 3 get 3 and a sleeve of Nike L71 balls thrown in for a mere 450 credits more ; )

I do like the ATV's, great meter and forgiveness and the slight lack of spin is no hardship 95% of the time.  If anything it makes judging distance a bit easier.  I'm still getting used to playing pitches with the 64° though, the Cleveland would let me hit the ball right to the hole and stop it dead, the ATV doesn't manage that quite as well.   The other area the Clevelands were better is squeezing a few extra yards out of them, I could easily get 6 or 7 more out of the 100 yard Cleveland by using top spin, the ATV won't get more than 2 or 3 unless it's to an elevated green when you do get a bit more roll out.

Unless you're drowning in credits or having trouble dinging your Clevelands I'd stick with them, there really isn't much gain to be seen for 3600 credits.

I have both Cleveland and ATV in the 56 & 60 degree.  (I use a lvl 39 ATV for my 64 degree)  The main advantage I see is if matched meter is wanted.  When I used G20's, I carried the ATV.  Now that I'm carrying RocketBlades I use the Clevelands.

The ATV won't pitch and flop better, unless your problem is from missing the ding.

I prefer the ATVs. They have a little less spin but are more controllable. I don't care about rolling the ball backward, anyway. I want it to stop. Strictly personal evaluation and preference.
