  Get a couple of good Matchplay rounds in with a TL and win them. That should help you. he he:~))

  Thanks for all the good wishes. I know I will get there, just not sure when !

  I know that there are a few sets where  I do have a better chance (St A F9, Beth F9, Olympic B9 and with a bit of good fortune F9, and when it is offered Whistler B9) so I do stick with those mostly, but occasionally I can get a decent round on the others (RSG 60 once) and the occasional 30 on some of the other 9s (Oakmont B9, Kiawah F9).

  Will keep at it and will make it in the end.

  Sounds fun ! Will keep an eye on your progress, but I did notice that it will take a while for you to reach the 500 rounds for your average to settle, but will certainly see you there !!

  I wish you the best of luck.  I'm happy to inform you it is very possible to do.  I used the same equipment as you, g10 irons (collectors items now) and B-ES golf balls.

  Here is my thread,   I started Oct. 5th, 2012 and only took until Nov. 13th to get real close.  From that point the average really starts dropping.  No I am not TL yet, that is because I'm just enjoying the game atm.

  P.S. Don't mind the avatar profile pic, I just bought Holly Sonders.  She kinda scares me as well.

  Nicely done. I see you like St Andrews as well !!

  You certainly went at it the right way, got the 500 games done quickly. I made the mistake of just playing, quite often very badly and at the 500 games mark my average was 69.5, but did get to the 65s reasonably quickly after that.

  As  to my goal, just played St Andrews 18 and managed a 60 (one more to the good !! makes a total of 2 counting 18 hole rounds !!  lol).

  Managed to go from 63.41 to 63.4 all in one go !!  lol

  And seven months later still plodding along and now at 61.17

  Now the really hard  bit comes because 30s are not taking off .01 anymore unless I get more than one.

  Plenty more games to come.......

  It's not avoidance of high scores which advances the tier but exclusively the low scores. 500 of these must be 60.000 or lower for TL.

  It's also not winning in matches - this works only until TM.

  I agree to MB: how often can you play or break a 30 or a 60?

  500x 30 score does the job, and for each 29, add a 31 and so forth.

  I too aspire to TL and have been plugging along for 4 years now lol. I have been a Legend since 4/12/12, my 1st round as legend i shot a 67 and average went from 60.80 to 67.80 lol it continued to rise for like 6 months, then finally i  stabilized , average got as high as 68.85. I have it down to 63.29 lol but it will probably take another year as a round of -5 or -6 under only moves my average .01 % lol .Any ways i congrat you all who play with the rock ball i cant for the life of me, and you would think that every thing moves like The Matrix with as much weed as i smoke everyday  :) If only i could putt i might be a decent player. Again OP congrats and keep plugging away we will get there, i think lol
