I recently read a posting that explained why you should not wait until the lines on either side of the ping line move into the ping line before you hit the putt.

Does anyone know where that posting is or can you explain why you should or should not wait until these lines merge into the ping line.

    thank you

This is true after pulling up the meter.

    Let me add:

    - It's perfectly o.k. to pull up and release without stopping the meter as often as you want. You may even save some time by decreasing it to zero before releasing the mouse button - nothing will happen.

Thus you can refresh the stroke's / putt's forgiveness margin.

    - It's advisable not to hurry a stroke. The Flash application takes a few seconds - 5 to 15 usually - to finish activity on each shot and after changing clubs and moving the marker. After that time the meter may be smoother.

When I had my shot all set up I used to slowly move the swing cursor back and forth a few times along the swing meter.  At first it would be jerky but after a couple of seconds would become smooth.  That seemed to help me hit the ding.

For some reason I stopped doing it, I guess I got better at dinging without it.

    Oh, and Alosso:  HELAU!!!

    Alaaf!  Bützje! :)

AFAIS it makes no difference how you spend that short waiting time. Moving the swing meter will indirectly show the progress.

When the lines squeeze in , you lose forgiveness.

Take aim, allow them to squeeze..  let it go and take aim again KNOWING how hard = your forgiveness is greater.

Stifle that urge, Sarge! Step away from the ball. (I.e. take your had off the mouse, lol)

Now, step back up to the ball, smoothly apply the power you just practiced, count 'one thousand-one' and release the swing.

    Perfect!
