I've noticed when I select a distance and hold the mark's on either side of the main mark shrink's.What is this for,and how do I properly use this. Not only with the putter, but all club's.

    hi

the shrinkage means the shot has more chance for a deviation/unpredictable result. for best possible result, drag the meter to an appropriate spot and then release as soon as possible.

If you hold it on full they don't move. Then just close in when you're ready.

I don't fully agree, I drag to the required spot, hold for a couple of seconds, then release. Why? If you look at your CPU usage it increases for a second when dragging, and a couple of seconds allows it to drop and the result is less chance of a meter stutter. Works for me anyway - pity recently I just can't seem to pick the right line!
