People who don't join...

  When I create a game, I see players appear to join and then their box turns red and says declined.  How do they do that?  There are times when I request to join and I see it's 18 holes or a course I just played and would like to decline, but don't know how.  I've been closing the screen to avoid playing in that match.

  In the bottom left corner it click cancel if you don't like the game selection.

  Bottom left should be the word cancel, click on that

  You can avoid jumping in on 18 hole games if you prefer not to by setting your preferences before joining a game. Scroll through the hole options (Front 9, Back 9, any 9, Full 18 or Any) prior to clicking the 'Find Game' button and you'll only join games that match that criteria.

  It doesn't help any with avoiding courses you just played, but the previous answers should take care of that.
