I agree with Wayne.  I can only hope that you are / will be OK and things aren't too serious.  Your insight will be missed as you've given a lot of great advice to many.

    Take care.

Paul (pdb1) was posting the same time I was.  I'm so sorry to learn of your trouble.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

    petervcpt:

    Howzit

This seems like as good a place as any to post this.

I'm checking out of here in a few days guys. Not sure exactly when but things have accelerated in the last few days. CT and Phil have the skinny on that.

The members of my CC which I have been most privileged to join, are pretty much set in terms of their clubs and balls, which is why I have turned to you.

    So here's  my question:

I have a few credits, and tomorrow I'll be selling my clubs back so I'll have a few more.

Can anyone nominate a member of this fine institution, that is truly deserving of a set of irons, wedges or putter?

Kinda need a response within 48 hours if that is ok.

I have been a member of a few CC's here - all of which I have been honoured to be accepted to. Without exception they have been fine clubs and their leadership teams have always placed their members first. I moved on from them not from their shortcomings, but my own.

I have been privileged to be part of this community and to those of you that have reciprocated by offering their friendship and generosity, thank you.

Occasionally I went off the rails and Icon and Shoe were quick to steer me back, albeit via a lengthy forum break :-)

CT was instrumental in allowing me to speak again and whatever some of you may think of him, he is a true friend, a loyal ally and a staunch advocate of fact-based posting.

I will respond to my friends privately.

Cheers all, and good luck in your quest for the holy grail :-)

    Cheers,

    Peter

    Peter,

Knowing and playing Alt-Shot with you has been an honor.  I know what you're facing and I'm humbled by your openness concerning your battle.  I lost my brother last year on February 3rd to AML.  He's missed more than I can say and loved this WGT Golf game as it took his mind off of his cancer,  You'll be missed equally my dear friend.  Prayers your way for a miracle.  I hope your 48hrs become 48 days and then some.

    Godspeed,

    Paul

Sadly we only ever got one game of Alt Shot in .....primarily because when both Peter and I are on....no other fooker is! That said, we do have a 100% winning rate as a team!

But we have played quite a few stroke games together.....and below is my reply (abridged) to Peter  today when I saw his message......

I remember the first game we played at Olympic - I played extremely well and shot a 27 -28, and you just had a nightmare and shot a 45 or something like it. But you chatted all the way through, listened to the little bad advice I can offer and still seemed to have fun......that day you will not believe how much respect was earned. You have never sought pity, and I appreciate your honesty....not only to me, but in the forums (although the mods did not like it lol)

Man did you give this game a good go,,,,,,,,and all this going through a life experience no-one should have to go through,

I will sign off saying I feel hollow after reading your message. Not that I am religious, but I will pray to something, for you and your family.

That prayer is for a miracle, you deserve it mate.

Odd how a silly little golf game can bring people together, people we have not met but we forge a strong bond, a friendship that goes way beyond making a birdie, par bogey.....or in Peters case, worse :))

Someone I know I would get on well with if we met up.

I am privileged to see Peter grow as a virtual golfer, a person and as a friend.

    Alan

I don't know you that well Peter, but from your posts I have read you seem a thoroughly decent guy. I sincerely hope that you come through what is happening to you and I send you my prayers and best wishes for a positive outcome.

    Scott.

you must answer the call as we all must, but your call is much to soon!

you befriended me at a time when i was struggling with myself and others on the forums.  the sound advise you offered was just the thing to get me to a better place!  you have not been my friend long enough!

my time is also shrinking,  i do not know if i can ever make a post here on such a personal level as you have.  perhaps i can send a message to one of my friends.  we'll see.

no goodbye's,  only good thoughts for you.     my nickle, i weep!
