  Just deleted a long rant I had written and was about to post, asking yet again for people to leave this thread alone - but am sadly replacing it with a white flag of surrender. Can't face watching this thread deteriorate further, and had more than a bellyful of the dross spewing out now.

  To all those who shared their story, thanks, I've really enjoyed reading every one of them. Such a great insight into the people behind the names. 

  I enjoyed getting part of my story out there too.

  To Rich, good luck with everything you're going through my friend. Maybe we'll meet out there one day for a knockaround. Great concept for a post.

  I'm off back to our CC forum - where you never get this sort of cr4p. Good luck to all.

   

   

   

  Well said Steve, I too am disgusted that this thread has deteriorated to the degree it has, but as I said in a different thread, astonished the Mods have not gone through it and deleted all the posts that have nothing to do with the thread, including this post.

  I even wall posted one player regarding some remarks, and he acknowledged that via a wall post back - pleasing as it kept misunderstandings out of this thread. But has slid further downhill.

  I still enjoy going through and re-reading.....it is in some way could be seen as a legacy of players who have played and gives us an insight to the person behind the screen.

  so all I ask is two things, if anyone has a beef - do it outside of this thread, and secondly, Mods....do the decent thing and clean this thread up.

  It's titled "Let's be Honest"......who is anyone here to determine what belongs under this vague heading and what does not?...."being honest" doesn't mean everyone has to like it, or agree with it......if the school hall monitors (Mods) have left this alone, maybe because they are as confused as some of the rest of us...certainly me. 

  point is : Judge not lest ye be judged.

  Opy, thats not what I said or implied,...the title is what it is...I just am confused as to what constitutes being honest and what doesn't?...what format is acceptable?  I actually congratulated the OP on a successful endeavor....to me, anything folks say, as long as it is how they honestly feel or important for them to say about themselves, is fair game....70 pages covered just about everything....there were some personal attacks, possibly out of frustration or whatever...there is never a place in the forums for that kind of thing...regardless of title.

  ps...what is the prize that gets delivered in 6-8 weeks?....:)

  It is more than just a title and ones definition thereof. It was about the intent, and whilst that can be interpreted in different ways, Rich set the example.....

  If you can. Let's really get to know who we are dealing with.

  From there posters followed his lead,,,,his intent was obviously to get a brief biography of the players, to gain an insight to them.

  IF that was his intention, and Rich can confirm this, then the Mods would be right in removing a lot of posts.

  It has nothing to do with agreeing with a point of view, CT you seem to have missed the point, and appear to be argumentative just for the sake of it....almost sounds like a lawyer.

  I am not judging you, and to be honest I do not care what people may think about me, so judge to your hearts content.

  Final word here, as quite simply, like Steve, a thread that had great intent has been hijacked and twisted is no longer worth reading.

  Fair enough Alan...and I did say I was confused as to the format requested as much as the intent...I even queried it a few times...not to be argumentative, just for my own clarification ...the many posts that have been written (that apparently have nothing to do with the intent), means that I am not alone in my confusion. 

  As far as the threat getting hi-jacked, most threads seem to go that route...and they are a lot shorter than 70 pages. I think it's just the nature of the beast...But still worth a read IMHO.

  I join  in saying   ,,,,,    what   was said on this last post  I am quoting .   I will  take part in  this thread for the last time ....but I will  keep my honest post on this thread.......   I felt good about  telling members  about  me some how .   I read others post  and felt better  about me and my human flaws   good and bad experiences.....C,est  la  vie....:)    Now I see  this thread  went to the left field   and is not understood for what is was made for .......        Renn      thanks  for  doing this thread for us and WGT at large    .......     If everyone looks back through this thread , it has been " hijacked " several times . Not to mention that half of the compelling life stories are obvious fiction written by talented amatuer storytellers . Oops . Who said that ?

   

  Umm...thanks, I think....although I'm am definitely not sharp enough to determine which life stories are fiction and which are true...not even sure why someone would embellish here...I mean, what is there to gained from doing so?

  Many of you will be pleased to know I am done with this "thread" (wanna get the term right)...for whatever its worth, I very much enjoy reading these forums...I respect the vast majority of opinions, I also find humour and camaraderie where I can...and opine if I get the urge.

  .....Why do I get the feeling that if I had said something like that,  I would be jumped on by many and from great heights?....lol
