I hope your right pd. Let it continue so all can learn a little about the folks they play with on here. Fiction is fine if that makes people feel like they contributed. Doesn't let us know who they are, but gives us some thing to read.

Me thinks that nothing will better bring the thread back on course than some honest stories. And on it goes:

On Saturday August 1st, my son (31) and his girlfriend invited both families to a casual meeting at a castle for sightseeing and Biergarten fun. At the end of the guided tour, the guide presented a Biedermeier room and offered: "Anybody who is willing to marry may do it here!"

My son raised his hand, "I'm game, and I've brought the rings!" It turned out that the marriage registrar was in the group, undercover, the documents had been prepared, so they married!!

    Best surprise of the Summer!

But how do we know what is fact and what is fiction?...regardless, I do agree these are interesting to read..

ps...Alosso, congrats to your Son on his marriage...:)

NOW that's a good story! Congrats alosso....

I would be ok with it if my son did it, but if one of my daughters did it I have to admit I would be thinking/wondering, "hmmmm, why so secret about it, I should have checked this guy out a lot better" LOL

Great addition my friend. My family would have made an instant party for sure. Congrats on the new daughter-in-law and may they have a hundred blissful years together and give you a dozen grand kids to spoil.

And you would be right that I made that suggestion a while back . While I have no proof and I don't point fingers . I believe it is likely probably inconsequential and minimal . Could have gone with out mention . But my point was that it was so well done that it has gone undetectable  and accepted as honest truth . That is fine too . Hell maybe they're all lies . It is still a fine thread .

My short Bio was honest (but only I know that for certain), while Mike Stroke's was obvious satire...everything else is up in the air, so I fully agree with you Paul. There is no proof, either way, so we definitely have to give people the benefit of the doubt.

    Thank you!

The "secret" has a story of it's own, in two parts.

    1) They said, "we wanted ev1 to be himself, not a person joining a wedding" which was perfectly fine - we had a marvellous and relaxed Biergarten party to follow,

    2) they wanted it neat & simple because they plan a mighty big event for their church wedding, 1,700 km away, in the Cathedral of Palma on the island of Mallorca, Spain:

while " his name " was obvious satire

Excuse me for one minute please . There is another thread about moderation deletion . Describing some forum guidelines . This is  another one that is a very good and common rule in all forums . Is not acceptable to name specific names in a forum . Just a heads up to you " ct " . It's in the WGT rules too .

Sorry for the interruption . Regularly scheduled programs may resume .

just not good practice or habit

fair enough...but, much of the time someone is specifically named, it is for derogatory reasons, like cheating or whatever...I was simply referring to his obvious "over the top" bio (which I actually found quite funny)...so, clearly not the same. I have often seen the specific names of top players (FMags, etc) mentioned for their golf prowess, or as someone who has a game to aspire to...I don't believe these posts are deleted? ...at any rate, I will be careful.

    cheers,

    ct
