    renniw52:

Sad to see that many have taken this thread as comic relief. It was intended to be as the name stated. All good things must end I guess. I'm still 63, my father is still failing and my sister-in-law is in late stage 3 ovarian cancer. My wife is a basket case over her sister and I am quite emotional about my Dad. Anyone else care To Be Honest, please chime in.

    Rich

    Whoa Rich (renniww52)

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad and your sister in law. Please just try, for your own sanity, to remember Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.

So I guess, for what it's worth, I'll try to help steer this very worthwhile thread back on track.

I'm old. I was born in 1958 in Cape Town, South Africa.

I remember, when I was 5, asking my grandma when we were on the bus, why there was a white line halfway down the aisle. She told me that the blacks had to stand behind that line.

We had a housekeeper, and she used to eat her lunch from a tin plate outside in the back. When I asked my dad why, he told me that's where "they" belong.

I was conscripted into the army when I was 17. I became an Ops Medic, and was sent to "the border", which was the border between then South West Africa (now Namibia) and Angola). I spent 15 months there, mostly at a place called Katima Mulilo, seconded to the Buffalo Soldiers.

After I left the army, I joined the only broadcasting station in the country, SABC, as a sound engineer, in Johannesburg, left after a year, and 6 months thereafter, decided to study to become a Catholic priest, in the order of Missionaries Of The Sacred Heart.

After 18 months, the Bishop of Johannesburg intervened and advised me that I needed a different career path. I agreed.

So blah blah ... work ... marriage ... divorce ... new wife ... heart attack.

And now I'm trying to get to Tour Master and having the time of my life.

Thanks to WGT for letting me have fun on my terms, and thanks to a lot of you for your your friendship, kindness and advice.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    "I'm old. I was born in 1958"

hmm...57 yrs ain't old, Peter....Donald Trump is 69 yrs old and running for US President....Hefner is 89 yrs old and still runs Playboy.

....methinks people are only as old as they feel, and you probably have many years ahead of you....:)

Yes,,, golf is a Gentlemen"s game... To bad golf sights cannot hold such integrity... When you are given the incentive to invest in your game,,, our bet... The game should never show  fault... Is it my skill,,, equipment,,, etc,,, that affect play??? I am assured that is the case here,,, yet another amazing happenstance,,, in the last nine hole tourney I just played in... Almost perfect on the meter,,, yet 8 out of the nine holes... I lipped putts... hair right,,, left,,, hair short... Amazing how good I am at just barely missing... Only a fool would invest big bucks here... lets be honest...

"Yes,,, golf is a Gentlemen"s game... To bad golf sights cannot hold such integrity..."

Mr Shazam...there are umpteen strings dedicated to complaints about the game at any given time...why would you pick this one?....and given that every post on your profile page (save one) accuses you of quitting in the middle of a game, perhaps you should focus more on "personal" integrity, rather than wgt's.

    ps.....it's golf site....not, golf sight

"And this was probably written by an expert that knows his circumstances . not"

...actually Peter, the posts were authored by a variety of people with the same accusation...I don't think they claimed to be "experts"...so, I guess you have a point...they could all simply be mistaken......honestly.....:)

ps, "I wish we could "like" comments here :-)"

....the vast majority of comments I read in all strings I agree with, empathize with and generally support.  But a spade is still a spade,
