I am approaching the R11 level in the not way off future and like the idea of greater stopping power and especially 3 iron distance, but are they really that different to the L79 Bladez apart from faster swing meter?  Has any one had both sets? Opinions greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

They are a bit more forgiving and with slightly higher trajectory, at a cost of faster meter, so whether it's worth for you depends on how well you can manage the meter. I'm sticking to the Bladez for the moment at least...

Edit: there also seems to be a minor difference in spin, but I guess if you use Nike balls you have more than enough spin already. Probably the best thing about R11 compared to the Bladez is club distances - 225 is better than 220 and 120 better than 125...

    Same  ^^^^

Well, except I plan on staying with Bladez period.  They just suit me better.  I rented the R11 a while back, the again both days of the free rental.  They were good, just not the best fit for *me*.

I think considering all the pros and cons these 2 are pretty equal, but as I bought the Bladez first, I don't see the need to get R11. Plus I hope there will be R11s or some other killer clubs ultimately coming out... :)

I switched to the blades for a while, thinking the slower meter might help my 62 year old reflexes. I shot some decent rounds with them (for me anyway) but ended up going back to the R-11s because the higher loft makes them more predictable.

Thanks all...............I do wonder what might be out next Gedi.  The L79 Blades to me just blew everything else out of the water for miles around with only the possible exception of the L90 R11 set......................

I recently got the R11s after using the Burner 2s for a long time. I wouldn't go back. The distances are great for me and the added spin is great for the longer approaches at Legend. I ding 'em just as well and I have 72-year-old reflexes.

Biggest difference I noticed is the spin on the long irons. Even the three iron will check up like a wedge with a decent ball.

Had the level 59 G20's and was going to upgrade to the level 81 G20's but instead purchased the bladze and loved them, couldn't wait for level 90 and the R11's and to be honest wouldn't look back, 3 iron and 225 yds, used with decent balls you wont regret them!!

I had the Burners and now i have the R11's. If you can handle a very fast meter, or can afford the new slower meter Nikes or Max balls, go with the R11's.

The new Burners, now known as Bladez, have one drawback.....miss the ding a little, especially on the wind side....and it's just a guess where your ball will fly off to. The forgiveness is TERRIBLE.

My favorite irons, the G20's. The 3 iron is a little short for a few holes, true, but with extra spin Callys, can't be beat.

    My 2 pence.
