Another post ref winds got me to thinking. WGT is advertised as something like the most realistic golf game, so why is it that every hole is loaded individually when it comes to wind?

Usually on any given day the wind will blow generally from the same direction, so why do we have winds in diametrically opposed directions on consecutive holes? I can answer that, it's because you load up each hole individually. Why not have some parameters that are loaded for the complete round? (or even tournament).

Also, if you want to spice things up, you could vary the wind direction and strength by a certain percentage, (just show the variations on the 'meter').

They are made totally random to stop people restarting until they get the winds that they prefer. This is of course on unlimited games.

Even though the wind may blow across a course in the same direction it can vary from shot to shot based on hole location, hole design and tee positioning of the hole in relation to the wind, coupled with any occurrence of wind shifts.  For instance picture the same directional wind blowing across this map of one of the courses at St Andrews. Notice on the course layout how the wind could vary on a shot according to each holes direction of play in relation to the pictured wind. The parameters are there, We just don't initially see a picture of the complete course layout and wind direction to see how they may be being applied to our round or even know if they are applied correctly. Even with knowing that you couldn't predict wind shifts. It's not like we can toss some grass in the air before our shots...lol
