I  shall want to know if somebody tested the  new TaylorMade R1 TP 0,0 Driver (Aldila 65-gram shaft) (L48+) ?

I am level 50,  play with all starters clubs (its hard), and i want  not to make  a mistake in my purchases.

    Hello.

Well I have not tested it, BUT unless the WGT software folks have changed the parameters of their clubs..Its a steal!

    I play the level 81 G20 ( 280 yds ), it has 4 dots of precision & 3 dots of fogiveness.

    The level 48 taylor ( 275 yds. ) has 4 dots of precision & 4 1/2 dots of forgiveness!

Many legends use that G 20 and love it, but for just 5 yards shorter than the G20 driver, I think the new l48 driver will be an overwhelming success story on WGT

Lower tier players ( pro tees & below ) will be hitting greens on par 4's more often for sure!

But expensive, 800 credits higher  than the G20 level 81 and 1000  than the G20 level 58.

The forgiveness parameter  is  important for me, i miss a lot of ding.

When missing the ding, the G20 level58 driver and iron set   have  enough forgiveness  to buy it or i have  to choise other  clubs ?

Thank you for your response safariman

I was at level 47 this morning and to my amazement found that there was a driver available at level 48 that goes 275 yds.  So naturally I purchased a level up bar and rented the new driver.  I own the level 29 R11 and was satisfied with it's performance until I recently became a master and was finding it difficult to score low from those tees with a 252 yd driver.  Now that I have the 275 yd R1, I'm back to shooting low again so I highly recommend this driver.  As far as forgiveness I cannot say too much since I hit the ding a good percentage of the time and I have a plan before each tee shot to give myself some room for error. ie aim at the far right of the fairway and hit before the ding or vice versa and all this depends on the wind, wideness of the fairway, slope of the fairway etc........

I  just wish there was some quality irons available at that level.  I have rented 3 different sets and wasn't satisfied with any of them.  Currently renting the Level 48 Rapture V2 graphites and they seem ok, will know more once I play oakmont olympic and congressional.

No matter how far that driver in your bag goes, it still isn't going to help u make a 15 ft breaking putt downhill on tourney greens!

Mmmm..my 2nd set was L69 BallZ , I held out for them for same reason... but it's a no brainer, go with FULL set G20s and flog the Hy for a 3rd wedge.

If you want to progress then getting used to a faster meter is imperative, and the L80+ Gs are too far away.

Edit: Or looking at the new driver get that now and buy G20 irons till L79 bladZ ?

The G20 level 81 is far away for me, but is not the problem for the moment.

In one  or two week,  I  shall be in  level 58, i hesitate to buy the G20 level 58 and the G20 iron set, but the forgiveness when missing the ding is enough with this clubs ?

The faster metter is not a problem i do not fail more ding  with the faster metter than the slower, the same but for me the forgiveness in a club is important. lol

For now, i prefer to buy for   the forgiveness, the new  expensive driver  level 48 and the rapture v2 iron set level 48.

I do not know what to choose.
