My plan was to wait until lvl59 and upgrade to the G20 set, but now I have a dilemma.

Do I proceed with my plan OR do I purchase the L48 driver with the R11 3W and just get the G20 irons?

OH and is there a huge difference between the method001 lvl51 and the lvl77 I know it has an extra 1/2 dot in all, but is it worth the wait or just go with the L51?

    Any suggestions welcomed

I have the method L77 and I am very pleased with it.  Before that I had the Level 66 Spider and I can't see it feels a whole load different. Does that help..maybe :))

As for the driver I think the new L48 looks a no brainer immediate play wise, BUT when you get to L59 just PERHAPS it will not behave as well because of software writing.  I really cant say for sure on that but some seem to think the game behaves that way.  personally I don't think I came across that issue until maybe just recently.  I had the Level 81 G20 driver and the L79 Bladez........I begrudgingly (and OK toy shop intoxication) upgraded the driver to the L88 R11.  On paper not much difference but my scores suddenly get way better.............Maybe those couple of extra yards and just a good purchase.  As I say it's the only time I may have come across it.............I only recently also changed my 3 wood from the L69 RocketBallz to the R11 ................I am not sure I gained much there except maybe a little extra stopping power, and so can't see any software issue there as just got what you would expect.........

later on I find the L79 Bladez excellent overall, but as another said punishing if you miss the ding especially with the wind.  But I would have stuck with the Pings G20 L83 had I not wanted the slight extra distance for Legend tees.  I think the Bladez also bite a bit better (tourney speed greens talking).

    Good luck

L48 Tm driver rated 275 yds, unbelievable distance I just drove the green on #18 at St A,,,with this driver,9mph tail wind and I used full back spin the ball traveled 352yds on to the green about 25ft past the hole,in testing further it is almost spot on using full top spin gains about 8 yds but the crazy thing is it just goes and goes and goes even in a 9mph head wind with full back spin it will travel 290+ yards..seems it loves any wind and full back spin.....i'm amazed wow.

I looking at the level 98 one but I think that WGT should let you rent the club and then apply the rental to the purchase if you buy it within say 48 hours.

Been a while since we have had a free rental weekend too, be nice to bring that back as well.

I hope that WGT makes a bundle off the sale of these clubs because they are going to lose it in the credit tourneys.

    How's that work ?

l used the level 58 G20's with no real problem, but there were occassions for example on BPB # 15, unless i was helped a bit by the wind i struggled to find the green in two. I was considering the upper level G20's, or the burners at the time, now Bladez, i bit the bullet and went with the Bladez and couldnt fault them, i got to level 90 and the obvious choice was the R11's.

So get the G20's, thats my opinion, never tried the Raptures!

    micheldess:

The G20 level 81 is far away for me, but is not the problem for the moment.

In one  or two week,  I  shall be in  level 58, i hesitate to buy the G20 level 58 and the G20 iron set, but the forgiveness when missing the ding is enough with this clubs ?

The faster metter is not a problem i do not fail more ding  with the faster metter than the slower, the same but for me the forgiveness in a club is important. lol

For now, i prefer to buy for   the forgiveness, the new  expensive driver  level 48 and the rapture v2 iron set level 48.

I do not know what to choose.

    Level 89 Tour Master (61.3)

Have Ping G20 Driver, 3 Wood, and Irons (Level 81).

Just purchased the Level 48+ Taylor Made R1.

Played my first round at Oakmont with it.  Moderate Winds.  I did not miss a single fairway and shot 64.

It is a little shorter than my G20, but even easier to hit the fairway with.  For now I will trade distance for hitting fairways.

This may be my driver until Level 98 R1. (In a few years).

Also tried the Nike Covert Driver (Level 75).  Nice, but was not that impressed.  I thought the G20 was superior.

    Just my 2 Cents.

Now you can just buy a better game. Level 48 now has a driver that can hit 275 yds. I hope that WGT makes a bundle off the sale of these clubs because they are going to lose it in the credit tourneys. It used to be that you needed clubs with more distance to even out the advantage given to lower tiers by the tee box distance. Now we will have pro level players out driving us by 50 yds or more per hole. This was a bad idea for the game

I would guess it may save them some players though.  As a somewhat serious gamer I just hit master about 1 week ago, and I was in my low 50's when I did it.  After playing with another driver (the max I could get was maybe 257 when I hit master) without spending a ton on balls, the master tee's were just to far for me and my 257 club, where the extra 18 yards really make it a lot more enjoyable for me on these tee's, but maybe people generally don't hit master so low.  But I was seriously debating stopping to play due to lack of enjoyment for me.

For me though the club was the difference between green in two or three on the master tee par 4's (yes not all par 4's but quite a few of them)

Lvl 66 Master with sub-average stats

Had been using the R11S (L40+) from the time I qualified for it. Loved the club, its distance and (especially) its forgiveness.

Saw the R1 & jumped on it last week.

Has the same feel (meter speed) as the R11S, same forgiveness (for those of us who don't ding every shot) and  it carries about 18 yds longer (275 vrs 257). For me, this is a much better Driver.

Just recognize that, while you can put the first shot out farther from the tee, it is the second shot (on a par 4) or 3rd (on a par 5) that really makes a difference in your game. (it is way too strong for most par 3 holes unless you enjoy playing in hurricanes - and you may have to back off a little on some holes [or put your ball into a swamp]}.

And from the gas that WGT is getting in this forum for letting us 'less experienced' guys have a club this good----- well, to me that kinda sez it all    :  )
