    Cane ne1 tell me how wgt calculates it scoring average's, cuz it makes no sense to me, im an average 63.33 legend and when i shoot rd's of -5,-6,-7,-8 for 9 holes witch should be -10,-12,-14,-16 for 18 holes for a pr72 only drop my average .01. so say i shoot -8 for 9, =16 for 18=56 and my average is 63.33 it should drop more than.01 thats rediculous. I dont get it?

    im not a math wizard so i could be wrong but your a legend with almost a 1000 ranked rounds.  You need 500 rounds to make TL at which point the average will be based on your best 500 ranked rounds after you reached legend. now i don't know when or how many ranked rounds you had when you got to legend but it is averaging over a lot of rounds and if they are all really close together I doubt the score would drop much. So I could see how it would be feasible  I know a TL on my friends list who plays a lot and I mean a lot and shoots those kinds of scores and I think his only drops by about .01 or .02 per rounds

    I am sure someone will be able to give you more definitive figures...like Alosso

    In real golf, the USGA handicap system always uses your last 20 rounds, taking the lowest 10 and throwing out the higher scores (little more complex than that but that is the general method).

    I think that WGT, once you hit Legend has all your scores into a huge group that figures into your average, they don't just use your last 25 scores for example.  This makes it very difficult to lower your score.  If you have an average of 63 for example and have 100 ranked rounds as a legend, you could shoot 16 under par which is 7 shots better than your average and only move it by 7/100.   There are some other issues in the way that they can move you up or down tiers due to winning match play, etc.  It's almost too complex to figure out.   I was also told a few times that once you hit legend status your average can never go up, which makes no sense unless they are somehow throwing out the highest scores in your database, which would tend to make your average go down faster.

    As you can see there is great confusion about this whole issue.  Since I could care less what my average is I rarely think about it, plus it gives me a headache   lol

    As JS said, there are up to 500 rounds in the calculation, and as long as it's not saturated, changes apply in relation to your current average which equals to -8.7 relative to Par 72.

    So, if you take your best score of 27, doubled to 54, the difference to your current ave. is 9.33. Divide by an assumed no. of rounds of 400 => 0.023 movement of your average.

    As a table for 400 Legend rounds:

    score 27 => -.023 movement

    score 29 => -.013 movement

    score 31 => -.003 movement which is invisible most of the time.

    It's the math of big numbers...

    I asked the same question awhile back and got basically the same answers. I'm a 63.43 and at my current rate I need about 1 year more of play averaging 29 to reach my goal of TL. lol

    When I made legend my average quickly went up about 12 points and now struggling to get it down under 70.

    That's well possible. You play about one game per day and I see an average of 60 between your best 105 scores. 395 more of those will bring you to TL - about one year.

    This may be a temporary "problem". Alas, getting to TL eventually is not to bring down the average but to play 500 scores averaging 60 regardless of the others. I have no Legend reference but I suppose that not many scores above 31/62 will be relevant in the end.

    Treat them like the number plates on your car. They follow you around but they say nothing about you. :-)

    Lets assume that a legend has just made his 500 games with a solid 61.00 average at the end of that.So 500 X61= 30500 strokes.his next 10 rounds are all 60 which is 600 more strokes so his new average will be 30500 + 600 =31100 divided by 510 which is 60.980392.... so for shooting 10 rounds of 1 under his average he will only drop 2/100 off his overall stroke average.It takes a long time to get that last stroke off,I know it did for me.
