With all respect, Trev: No, Trev.

Edit: Take off 10 scores and you are correct. /edit

Alas, 500 is the max no. of scores counting. Those 10 extra scores of 60 will take out the 10 highest scores in the mix which may be 75s...

This causes the sudden drop of the average when it's newly saturated.

There are two details making the calculation difficult to follow:

    - the high number of 500 scores which hides subtle changes in the third decimal,

    - the non-linearity of the limited number of scores.

Once the (Legend) average is saturated it's impossible to predict or to follow unless one knows those 500 scores in the mix in all detail.

Something I wish WGT shouldve done a long time ago is give a ranked rd stat for each tier that u where in. So it would give u some kind of a goal or idea what to shoot for, wgt says u need 5oo ranked rd's as a legend and a sub average of 60 to make TL but dont give u the info u need to calculate that. I hv no idea how many ranked rd's i have as legend would be nice to know that stat.

    They don't say so - it's a public secret.

Therefore they will not give more information than the average itself. Players have to care for themselves if they wish more detailled knowledge.

    The information is all there:

    - The number of total ranked rounds in the stats - save the number when you change a tier and you will know how many rounds you have played after that.

    - 200 scores (incl. Blitz and CTTH) in the score history - save them frequently enough as a calculation basis.

    - The community knowledge of the calculation mode - use it. It's simple spreadsheet calculation.

I understand that they don't wanna help us in this because they might want to change it without notice, as they did with the anti-sandbagging measures, and they certainly don't want to disencourage any Legend by making the duration of his journey transparent.

Though I agree with Alosso that it is imperative to keep track of your stats ( I use an Excel Spreadsheet to enter every score) so that I know exactly how many rounds till I hit saturation AND what score will get kickd off etc.

There actually is a way to back calculate the number of games played in the Legend Tier even if you have 400 games played. It is a very complicated Excel spreadsheet that slowly narrows down the number of games played until there is just one or two possibilities left.   I developed it for a Legend in my CC and after just10 nine hole rounds I had it down to one of two possibilities (407 or 408 rounds played as Legend). Once he hits 500 I intend to develop another to find out what scores are currently being kicked off the his lowest 500 rounds.

Since he was / is in my CC I invested the time needed to program it (about 10 hours) and enter the data and perform the analysis to narrow it down (about 5 hours).

Take an advanced Excel course at your local Communty College and you can do it too :) or bribe me (LOL).

IDK still makes no sense to me, I hvnt shot  or atleast recorded a bad rd in such a long time if u look at my score history there r no bad scores... ok maybe 1 but it just makes no sense to me i keep shootin the same scores in ranked or cc tournies, -5, -6, -7 and some -8's for 9 holes. I JUST DONT GET IT!!!!!, and i'm already a legend so there is no way to figure out how many ranked rd's i hv as a legend, wish i wouldve known to keep track of ranked rd's for each tier, but to late now. I just feel it shouldve been a stat that every player should hv in there player stat's( ranked rd's / tier). It's just frustrating, at this rate it will take me 2 yrs to reach TL status if average only drops .01 every couple rd's or so, and i do play alot, every day up to 5,6 ranked rd's per day or more sometimes........ just frustrated. I guess i will just put it to rest and play, all I can do at this point.

    Don't worry :)

Of course it will take some time but the .01 should not be significant forever. The nonlinearity of the calculation will help you.

You might try to check your status by checking the following:

    - days passed since you became a Legend,

    times

    - average no. of ranked rounds per day.

    Any clue?

As I said: Getting to TL eventually is not to bring down the average but to play 500 scores averaging 60 regardless of the others.

And, more important IMHO: The goal "TL" should only be a side effect of the major purpose of a gaming site:

    Create fun, recreation and amusement!

If you miss any of that you might suffer of burn-out well sooner than achieving your goal.

    HAVE FUN!!!

Why does your stroke average go down if you beat a higher tiered player in match play?

I was not aware of this until someone pointed it out.  Tour Master beats Legend in match and TM's stroke avg drops??  Makes no sense but it's true!

Anyone with THE 88 car and Jr as his (or her) photo is a friend of mine.:-)

Thunder Valley tomorrow - cannot wait.

    Anyhow back to WGT averages...

In order to get to TL you have to have recorded at least 500 rounds as a Legend AND have an average of 60.00 or under.

When you have 500 rounds or less than 500 rounds your average is calculated:

Total Strokes since becoming a Legend / Total Rounds since becoming a Legend.

When you have more than 500 rounds your average is calculated as:

Your best (lowest scoring) 500 rounds as a Legend / 500.

So lets say your average was a 64.00 (as displayed by WGT on your profile as they ONLY show the average to 2 decimal places).

If your next score on a 9 hole match is a 30 and your average drops to 62.00 then you have only played 2 games as a Legend. Simple...

The calculations for a 63.27 average however when one has played well more than 200 rounds as Legend as you have are extremely complex to back calculate.

This is due to the fact that the decimal points shown by WGT are rounded. Thus, as in a 63.27 average is somewhere between 63.265000000000 and 63.27499999999999.

There are four different data points within that range for every potential number of rounds played once you get past the 200 rounds we can see on your score history.

Lets just say you have played 425 rounds since becoming a Legend and have the average you have.

    425 x 63.27 = 26,889.750 strokes sice becoming a Legend

    BUT

Your number of strokes HAS TO BE an even number so your average is not not exactly 63.27000000 it is somewhere between  63.265000000000 and 63.27499999999999.

    63.265 x 425 is 26,887.625 strokes

    63.275 x 425 is 26,891.750 strokes

Thus you could have played 425 rounds and had 26,888, 26,889. 26890 or 26,891 strokes and your average would show 63.27

As I said the back calculations are very difficult. This is simply  because for every average and every number of rounds (in the Legend Tier) there are 4 possiilities.

If however a player posts scores that are varied (in your case not all 31s and 32s) it can be done.

Of course as Alosso says just keep hitting 29s and 30s and you will get there eventually.

It was set like this by WGT last year - that is why.
