You can't get that view all the time.... that is why the golfer becomes transparent at times. You may have to adjust to using the backward view in conjunction with the head-on view to aim your shots.

The little arrow bottom right of the screen should change the angle. As you have not played any ranked games I can only guess you have practiced on Kiawah where some of the camera angles are poor to say the least. This is due to poor mapping (was the first course and lack of photos) gives some shocking views. You can use chip to work out the break and or zoom will help a little.

In the game window, click Menu tab, then select Game Settings; once in settings, click the Advanced settings tab, and enable Avatar angles; then click save.

Your avatar  will now line up in 'generally' the same direction as your aiming point.

As others said, there are quite a few unsquare views. Be warned, there are also some where you don't see the golfer at all, or but his head or club. (e.g. 2nd bunker @KIA#17).

Fortunately, we don't need the view - the indicators should tell us enough (1)

With a little experience you may ignore such shortcomings and shoot in "instrument flight mode".

Most difficult for me are those putts which have to be taken from the opposite view - difficult to exchange left and right, especially for a long time lefthander :))

    Hit it straight mate!

    (1) with the exception of UEL play - how to play a shot when the ground is not visible?)
