    Hi everyone.

I've been playing here on and off for a couple of months now and I'm certainly better online than in reality! Not great mind you, but better.

Thought I'd say hello to everyone and introduce myself. Name is Nigel, living in Canada but originally from the UK. Been playing golf (the real, bad kind) since I was about seven and it constantly destroys my ability to be Zen, every single time I play. Grrrr.

So far on WGT I have only played solo rounds, but would love to play a round with someone out there, or maybe be part of a country club? I've only just dipped into the forums for the first time today, so please forgive my ignorance about how matching up with others works,

Anyway, my best to you all, and keep on playing! I think site and game is great, and I'm loving being here. Have fun!

    Nige.

Hehe, I like that description, : ). I would love to see a book titled 'Zen and the Art of Playing Golf', I think it would be a good book!

Only been here a month myself, less time than you, Nige. Still, welcome to the forum and the game, : ) I've not played group or match play yet either, maybe soon, I'll look you up next time I'm in the mood for company.

That book is essentially out there, titled "Golf in the Kingdom", by Michael Murphy.

Thanks for pointing out that book, doublemochaman, I will be getting it sometime I should think. Just did a little research, looks interesting,  and there is a film of the book to be released this year starring David O'Hara and Malcolm McDowell....

Hope you don't mind the slight side-tracking of your welcome thread, Nigel, : )

    Hi Valrec.

Thanks for the welcome, and the 'side-tracking' was pretty interesting, so thanks and hi to doublemochaman too.

Would love to play, any time our mutual availability/interest/time zones allow :)

Here`s another one for you Valrec, Zen Golf-Mastering the Mental Game by Dr.Joseph Parent.

It`s a good read. Enjoy and GL

Ironic.  I just drove back from the golf course and the car in front of me had a license plate with the word "ZEN" on it!  True story.

Excellent, Doublemochaman, that is truly the nature of Zen, and it's close relative the Tao... in small ways, it lets us know it is here... ; )

Nigel, I'll be looking out for your availability : )
