I just bought a new laptop and it has Windows 8 installed on it..Has anyone experienced any similar problems with their meter stuttering or not running smoothly? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

My meter was lagging when I used Chrome, so I switched to Maxthon and it helped. Not sure it will hold true for the stuttering, but worth a shot, Maxthon is hands down the best browser I have come across for this game.

    Cheers,

Using the forum search box is the best suggestion. The forums are riddled with ways to smooth out a poor meter. Otherwise there's just too many things to list.

Then there's the people who believe it's all WGTs fault and will tell you your laptop is fine.

Yes to your question about a stuttering meter.  Some times I'll let the meter run (once) with out making a stroke.  It does not always help, but at times it does.  I have Windows 7, but with all the updates.

Try Maxthon and Safari browsers. Use CCcleaner on a regular bases. Clear you flash and eat your cookies. Check to see what is starting up on you computer. If it is not necessary, turn it off. What video card do you have on your new pc? Cpu usage is critical for a smooth meter, as is a good wifi signal. Many things can cause meter studder. Have fun.

What's the matter Tightrope, truth hurt?

If you have viable optimizations to help the OP smooth out his meter, by all means, we would like to hear it. Otherwise, I and others don't want to be demonized for sharing viable optimizations that do help some players have a smooth meter.

Ok dont laugh, when ever I use chrome, firefox, whatever I have meter problems somtimes worse than others, but for some reason when I use internet explorer an older version not the lastest, heck it might be good also, but it runs like butter, smooth. maybe a hiccup everyonce in a while.

Truth does not hurt at all. It would be nice you you once in a while stuck to it.

What, you guys don't read the forum?? WGT assures us it is not their software or servers causing the problem it's ours! Been on line for little over 2 yrs and it's a persistent complaint. Their must be a lot of people, besides me, with server, browser, hardware, or connection problems in WGT. Again, it's not THEM!!  :-)
