Hi, I'm fairly new to the game, and have only played solo stroke play rounds. I've earned enough free credits to upgrade my clubs and have gone with the Ping K15 full set and a couple of Cleveland CG16 wedges, which I'm happy with so far. One things bugging me, though. The new driver is rated at 250 yds from the tee, but the distance marker defaults to 225 yds as if I was using a starter club. Does anyone know how to change the default so that I don't have to change it manually for each drive? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

It's not a distance marker, it's an aiming point. My driver is rated at 280, but the aim points to a spot 245 yards out. That's just the way it is - there's no changing it by default.

You should be changing it manually almost every time any way to adjust for wind.

Nice club selections for your upgrades though.

    Welcome Rico!

Yes, you have to adjust that triangle (the aim point) each time you take a shot.

If you 'left click' on that blue (sometimes green) triangle out in the middle of the fairway (and hold the 'clicker' down) you will find that you can drag the triangle where you wish to AIM.   Watch the WGT Tutorials to see how the basic game operates. Then read the "sticky" posts about  aiming, putting, chipping, etc.--

This is a fun GAME which can (easily) become an obsession - PLEASE always remember - it is a GAME!  And be prepared to laugh when you see people treating it as if it is their occupation!!

(P.S. Haven't found a way to make money here - but have found ways to spend what I have earned)  ;  )

I mentioned this ages ago when I became a TM and found the aim marker irrelevant to what I could drive.

Unfortunately you'll have to live with it.

But a big plus is that by zooming in and moving it you can also right click and zoom in again to find the ideal spot to land your ball.

This is essential when you play uneven lies.

It is most applicable to RSG and STA with all those humps and hollows.

That is a big tip from someone who knows, and has played both courses many times in real life.

Do not trust that aimer to be where it needs to be. Get in the habit of moving it every drive because that default aim doesn't take anything like wind, elevation, terrain, ball type or tee into account. The blue line will change to red when you get to the rating of your driver.

Thank you all for the quick replies; I appreciate them all. I understand the need to move the aim point to allow for wind & elevation. I was just hoping to reset the distance in order to eliminate one variable from the mix. I guess, just like real golf, I need to evaluate all aspects of each shot.

Kelsey, I'm really liking my choice of clubs. I play cavity-back clubs in real life so I thought I'd go with them here. I've only spent $20 or so in real money back when I first joined. Since then I've been piling up the free credits via surveys & videos, and had enough in the account to get these for free. Now if I could just settle on a ball to use. :^)
