    CerinoDevoti:
Can't say I agree about the UL only coming into effect when one is in the fairway. Olympic is a perfect example of the rough having a huge slopes as does the fairways. There are cases and holes where a play to the middle of the green from the rough is very possible. But, there's times where just hitting back to the fairway is the only play. I think that's fair and a good example of game realism in regard to penalties for not hitting the fairway off the tee in the first place. Getting out of bunkers with a chance at par takes a lot of practice and some experimentation. I started out using the free ball and just trying most anything including way more club in punch shots than I thought it needed. Turns out, that's the trick. Up hill bunker shots need to be hit in punch and you need to hit a heck of a lot more club than you may think. That's where the free ball comes in. I clubbed up until I hit them off the course. I'm a glutton for the learning process BTW. ;-)

I only suggested that it be only the fairway as this is the only part of the course that seems to play correct in UL. When they've sorted out the rough then wgt can add it. Then when they've sorted out the bunkers then that can be added too.

The question I keep hearing in my head regarding this is, when is it sorted and who decides? I think it's fine now and you disagree. At what point will it be sorted enough? If it's made 90% easier but there's never any stance control or draw or fade options, is that enough? My point is there will aways be someone who says they need to do more until the UL will not be UL at all.
