    mnshiner:

The first round is over with fmagnets and sebicu with both having shot a 60. I need both of you to please contact me about your prize for Round 1.

The spreadsheet for Round 1 has been finalized. We had two Eagles in Round 1 both on the same hole with sebicu getting one and Hanswurst72 getting the other. All the scorecards have also been posted as well.

As far as the prediction for low score for the tournament we have ragefire and Daboofness tied with their guess of 60 so far.

    Course Conditions for Round 2
    Course:Merion
    Mode: Practice
    Tees: White
    Green Speed: Very Fast
    Wind: High
    Lies: Uneven
    Shot Timer: 90 seconds
These conditions are also on Page 1 of this thread.

Corwyn should be along with the second round pairings and how it is going to work shortly.

Appreciated the effort & the enthusiasm of Steven & Corwyn of hosting this fun tournament, but "very fast" greens is not my cop of tea.

Hope to see more of this UL tournaments in the future played on tournament greens. Kind regards, Eric

With all due respect can u explain what is wrong with 'very fast' greens.

When i was in Myrtle not so long ago, we encountered courses with Bermuda greens, and fortunatley our Pro advised us on how to read them, as opposed to the normal bent grass we have in England.

So wtf is the point in whingeing about a minimal adjustment to green speed on a virtual golf game.

A big thank you to Shiner for the most 1st Round Birdie's prize, and for all the effort in organising the tournament. Now, we must get into the 50s in the 2nd round people!

    I concur with both statements.

Just did a little practice run and birdied both #5 & #6 and #8 is reachable with a decent ball. I was using G12-S. And putts like this are possible

I'm game for the second round if anyone will have me, & based on my first round score I wouldn't blame anyone if they didn't.  No one wants to be slowed down or have their rythym disrupted, as unfortunately Rich found out in round 1.

Bad thing is the very next day I shot a 75 on the same course & conditions as I shot the horrid 93 on the day before. Must be performance anxiety or something. Who knows? If I did, it wouldn't happen.  Been that way for every tourney I've been in.

If anyone will have me, I'm available most all day any day, but would prefer to play mid week or later. Just PM or wall me & we'll get together. If not, I'll get Steve to mark for me when he gets back. No problem either way.

Good luck to those in those still in the running.

Me too. I was maybe decent until # 12. Tried a stupid shot hit the trees and ended up in the weeds under the trees. Wes said I don't think you can  hit it out that stuff. He said a friend hit into the same spot and took the maximum number of shots and never moved the ball more than a yard or 2. That is what happened to me too. I even tried to hit it straight sideways. The ball just wouldn't move. I did manage 1 birdie after that. Almost got a hole-in-one on # 13. But by then my round was shot and I just played it out to show I played.

Your right BtB those trees on #12, short right, are a killer, the ball will not move more than a yard or two.
